In Julia F. Mortons  book page 389 it says there 3 or 4 varieties.Same name differnt varieties.it's bad enough with common names.

Mine is labled guavaberry myrciaria floribunda from P I . Oscar does your plant look like it.The katuk on the right of the guavaberry ? is flowering now. can't get seeds to sprout will grow from cutting.

Your tree looks good. Leaf drop is normal. Pot size looks like a 7 gallon compared to water can.Tree caliber looks a little big for that size pot.Put it in a bigger pot not to big you will be putting it in a bigger pot in the spring.They grow real fast.

White sapote does not produce true to seed . A grafted one from a good tasting tree would be better.The one Oscar tasted could have been from seed. Named varites homestead,redland,sue bell,bonito springs are all good tasting. I have never tasted woolly.
