TT has a nice list of mango trees available for sale.

Has anyone tasted Paige?  I'm guessing that it was selected and named by TT or another local source?

They are also selling Zill Indochinese trees, which I don't think I have seen elsewhere. I know that ZINC's progeny are considered to be better, but I'm quite fond of it. I would plant it if I had the space in my yard.    ???

Edgar's good side

Even Dot has some clusters

Beverly, with zero care, looks good

Despite having several mature trees, I've never really had enough fruit at one time to think about selling it.

I share with friends, former coworkers, and also ship mangos to relatives and old neighbors in the north country.

Also sometimes trade for varieties I don't have.

My Edgar (topworked from a mature Graham) had excellent fruit set and retention on one-third of the tree, now has glorious clusters of fruit.  :D    Of course, I know better than to count my mangos before they are ready to eat.    The rest of the canopy is flushing vegetative growth. But it's too soon for me to know how it will do from one year to the next.

My Lemon Zest had poor fruit set and retention this year.  But prior two years were good, so I'm in a forgiving mood.

Beverly has an excellent crop in store.

I think suggestions will vary, regarding places to visit, depending on which area he is visiting. E.g. Dade, Broward, and/or Palm Beach Counties.

Fruits might include mango, carambola, guava, avocado, passion fruit, longan, mamey sapote, sapodilla.

I would second John's mention of Keitt as typically producing a big crop.

The Taiwanese guava trees I got from Mike recently are gorgeous and doing great.   :D

I suspect that Duprey Saigon will be the first in my yard.
First year for this tree, so I don't really know when to pick them.   ::)

Sounds like you're becoming a grafting maven.

I have exactly two new leaves on the 15 gallon Maha I planted many months ago.
I bet you will be dining on Maha long before I will.    ::)

Thanks, Alex and Jeff, for the information on Cac.
It sounds like a winner.      8)

My condolences, Adam.

Losing a pet is so tough.
And it can remind us of other losses.

Hang in there.

1. sweet tart
2.  Maha
3.  Cac
4.  PPK
5.  Fruit Punch

I haven't run across a lot of information on Cac / Coc  regarding flavor or other characteristics. Could you or zands help me out?    I'm wondering where I can plant the one I've had sitting in a pot for too long.

Good to know.  It turns out that I should have bagged the peaches this year.  ???

In my neighborhood are two very large, mature BM trees.
They fruited well and seem to be holding on to their fruit so far.

do you know how old are trees are ?

The Jacqueline was planted 22 years ago, and has been pruned back a couple times.

The Dot, which is my second one, about 12 years ago.

The Edgar was topworked to a 9 year old Graham, in the summer of 2013.

The Dupuis was planted in May of 2013.

I think LZ was planted in 2011. It had a nice crop last year; this year I will be depending on the kindness of vendors.

It's a mixed picture as far as which mango trees show promise this summer.

Jacquelin (and her sister, Beverly) set a good crop and are retaining them so far.

This is the first year for Dupuis Saigon, and it's doing well for a small tree.

Young PPK looked terrible for nearly a year, is finally flushing new growth.

Lemon Zest had a partial bloom and only fair fruit retention. (no pic)

First year for Edgar, bloom was partial, fruit set and retention very nice so far.

This is not how I recommend growing White Jade pineapples.

Dot had decent bloom and fruit set, mostly poor retention.  The fruit I couldn't reach with spray so far looks better than what was sprayed.

I'm not completely opposed to ornamentals.

I'll check them out, as I can always use a spare pair.
Someone keeps leaving mine out in the rain to rust.  >:(

You have chosen well, Mr. Bill.
Some of my favorite flavors......I hope they do well for you.

I'm surprised to hear that Dot may not be well adapted to California, as I thought it would love a less humid climate.

I kind of remember Dr. Campbell, a year or two ago, mentioning some  great new varieties that are in the pipeline.

I thought this would be the year they would be highlighted at the festival.   :-[

PM sent.

What non-excalibur/non-zills mangos will be there?   Looking for something off the beaten path

George, you are further off the beaten path than any nursery.    ;D

122
In my own limited experience, mamey is more drought sensitive than sapodilla.  It can fruit in partial sun.

In southern Florida sapodilla thrives with limited care.  Neither is necessarily a fast grower.

Sent you an email earlier this week.
I know your pretty busy, so in short, Any loquats trees?

I second that emotion.

Adam, when all of your cocktail loquat trees* are ready I'll rent a U-Haul and distribute some to those of us in southern Florida.

*or even single-cultivar yummy ones

One of my five plants fruited a few months ago.
The fruit was delicious, sweet, low acid.

My memory may be playing tricks on me, but I think even the core was edible.

My other four plants all fruited a few weeks ago. I'm hoping for repeat performances.
