Im in zone 9 on the coast. High humidity , heat, and rain. A very experienced garden friend has a container lychee that flowers every year but never sets fruit. What could be the problem? Has anyone in Houston area had consistent success? (I live about 2 hours from Houston on the coast) I would like to buy a couple different varieties but Sweetheart to start. It will most likely be in a container and protected in winter for cold spells. We don't get a lot, but enough to kill tropicals in ground. Lychee is one of my favorite fruits so In hoping to be able to grow it!
