Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Pouteria species.

Did you try the p. campechiana and p. lucuma at a ripe stage? Not sure what variety of p. campechiana you had but I found another a good use for p. campechiana for those that don't like to eat it out of hand - blend some of the flesh with coconut milk, vanilla ice cream and a pinch of cinnamon. This beverage alone makes p. campechiana worth growing :).

Might want to try Pouteria viridis (green sapote)

Hey all, I'm in S. FL and am looking to buy a Mexican Mangosteen (Luc's) tree.  Anybody have for sale? Thanks!

There are a few good sized Baobab trees growing at Cape Harbour in Cape Coral, FL.  They are all healthy and quite a sight to see.

:o  Wouldn't use Glyphosate on my worst enemy.

Quote
They were genetically engineering food crops to be resistant to glyphosate, so it could be sprayed directly on the crops to control weeds without damaging the crops.

The genetic engineering = making glyphosate actually part of the plant genetics. Very, very, very bad idea.

Yeah, the lychee trees (at least in my area) are kinda sketchy this year. Some look good, others not so much. Still better than a couple/few years ago. Safe to say we won't be seeing as good a season as the previous though. Canistels look good, Saps look good, mangoes could be better (previous season was great) but still will have a decent mango season.  Would love to see a photo of your lemon drop garcinia in action. All the best
