Thanks for the link.  Will have to look into those products.  There is an old citrus orchard down the way from me that is no longer being maintained or watered but is still alive and growing fruit for a decade now.  Im sure it is the cause of all the leaf miners.  Amazing the citrus trees can survive through droughts in a very hot inland location on the side of a hill (no ground water).  Tough trees....

I just pull over and ask the tree teimmers if they want to dump it at my place.  Half or so will agree.  It saves them money.  Have got many full truck fulls.  I have a neighbor with tons of it and a dump truck and tractors and all too that sells it and firewood. 

Thanks, can I ask about leaf miners in your orchard?  Is it a problem for you?  How often and what do you spray with?  My trees are flushing now and I think I should spray for miners this year.  I got some spinosid and sprayed once but then it rained.  So I dont know if I should reapply or wait a month or two?

If its not getting above 40ish Celcius they should take it pretty well.  Mine will take a few days at a time of 42C  they should at least push blooms every spring if they are grafted trees.

Better get some DI water and dial that meter in to 7.  Having a hard time believing your rainwater is alkaline.

Thanks I will maybe pick up a few more.  Just put in a cherry, peach, nectarine, apple, persimmon, and plum tree.  Have them all on a 20ftx20ft grid and on a 1" valve.  Trying to get all similar type trees on the same sprinkler line.  And there are still 4 or 5 vacant spots...

The tree doesnt have fruits right now but I think they should come soon.  Not really sure when it makes them but its been a while so they will probably be blooming soon.  The tree looks like it is about to make a lot of new growth.

Sure was a weak storm here in north san diego county.  Beautiful outside today.

My peach tree has been in full bloom for a few weeks.  There are already maybe 100 little fruits set the size of almonds. 

Im always amazed how early they are ready.  Will just me 2 months or so from now.

Unfortunately I am running out of room in my backyard and the limited spots available will require a lot of work (ie removing old roots from a tree that I removed).  I have to balance the 'that would be cool' with what my wife would actually eat.  She's a bit more conservative in her fruit choices.  That said, I've planted some sapote seeds from a fruit that I bought awhile back.  Hopefully they germinate and then I'll just have to find a spot for them..... Indeed, space and growing a fruit tree just to say you did are limiting factors.  I agree that you should enjoy the fruit you eat as well.  I don't have the soil and climate to grow many of the things i would like, but I am slowly adding more fruit trees/shrubs to the landscape to keep my tropical fruit addiction satisfied.  Good luck with the Sapote seeds.  Let us know how they do.  It would be great to see how they mature for you.
