Thanks. Thought it looked like natal, but I wasn't sure. I saw an overripe fruit but I'll see if I can find a perfectly ripened one.

I'm on a trip to a very warm part of SoCal near the Palos Verdes area and I found this fruit growing as a hedge. I'm not sure its other uses, but here is a picture of the fruit, plant, flower and the milky latex (sap) at the top of the fruit when detached. Anyone know what it is?

Hi,

The fruit is sweet with some sour notes. Depending on the fruit it may have to be a bit of a bitter aftertaste, but it is good tasting overall. Because of how the peel is textured, it's a bit grainy but with a nice refreshing sweet taste.
