I thought maybe it was the one that someone had nicknamed "mounds"  but reading through the threads revealed that one to be the E-4 I Believe?  I was hoping that Rob would have some insight.

Does anyone have any info on the "M-4" A forum search did not reveal much, just that it was "sweet like candy" and tasted coconutty.  How does it compare to the Coconut cream ? would it be a replacement for the C/C ?  How long has it been in cultivation/ released? early, mid or late season?

I've got what looks to be a really good fruit set on my pina colada. I'm sure there will be some abscission, but it's set a lot of little bbs. I think the key is to treat it for fungus.

I've been really pleased with THAT flowable sulfur, but there are many other products out there.
What "flowable sulfur" are you recommending and where can I get it? I bought some stuff from HD yesterday out of desperation. It was in a liquid form and was labeled "Orchard spray" had sulfur as main ingredient.

My pina colada bloom was totally whipped out by PM. I'm definitely hoping it will re-bloom after this cold spell. Any Issues with spraying sulfur on the Pina Colada?

Zands,

How has your Pina Colada tree worked out for you in the last season?  Also, IMHO a splash of "Sailor Jerry" would be the spirit of choice to complement.

I believe I have seen the original Kent tree in cocoanut grove. A friend of mine was renting the pool house/apartment while she going to the FIU nurse anesthetist program. The property owner was a very kind gentleman in his 80's who introduced himself as "MR KENT", it was an amazing piece of property directly on bay shore dr. I was told by my friend that I could take some of the avocado's but not to touch the mango tree because Mr Kent had gone on and on about how it was a special one of a kind tree and that people where always trying to get his mangoes. At that time I had no idea what a good mango was and abided by the rules, It wasn't until several years later that I figured it out. After finding out that the world has been tricked by the grocery store mangos.

The original Kent tree is actually on Poinciana Ave.
This reminds me of when I found out PRO wrestling was FAKE!!!  Ok, maybe not that devastating.  I wander what the old guy was talking with his "special" tree?

It might be helpful to list all of the varieties that you have in order to make sure you don't get suggestions for duplicates or very similar types. Also, consider that you might be able to top work  your least favorite trees once you figure out what your not impressed with. Although, now would be a good time to put them back in a pot and sell/ give them away and put new ones in. I have held off putting a few in the ground until I can get some good samples of the fruits to be sure I only plant what I really like and want to eat.

91
I have not been able to locate anyone with the mentioned varieties in our area except for a few newly planted 3gl trees in privet collections. I will be making the trip to tropical acres which appears to be the closest or only availability.

Seems it's always when I'm on shift.

yeah I'm a little disappointed with it, I was never a Tebow fan either lol.  What do you think about the copper level? My neighborhood used to be a mango, avo, lychee farm.

Your post motivated me to find out what I am working with in my yard in south Merritt Island. I sent the sample to the University of FL soil testing lab. I though that it would be a bit more inclusive than it turned out to be but this was just the back yard, I might send the sample of the front yard to another lab if anyone has any recommendations. ( the back yard had lots of oak trees that are slowly coming down).

You have cured me of ever wanting to visit.

Another thread on this?  This has been beatej to death in many previous threads.   Please use the forum's search feature...
I actually did do a couple of searches but didn't see what I was specifically looking for. Didn't mean to be inconsiderate by any means. I also considered the age of "old" threads and the relevance considering all of the new verities. Also trying to clear my schedule to attend a Brevard Rare fruit counsel meeting.

Many thanks, I have a sweet tart as well. new to me in a 25gl size, it's a beast and just starting to swell at the buds. I might let it hold onto some and then put it into the ground.  LZ is 7gl just potted up to 15 until I can take out an oak tree, it's starting to bud too.

98
More specifically who has fruiting trees and is willing to share/sell some of the new stuff in the area. I plan to make the trip south for the season but would really like to find some to try closer. Also to see what does well taste wise in my area. I have several new varieties that will not be ready to fruit for a while but will be willing to return any favors.

Should I do the ones in pots and the ones just planted as well? I was wandering if that would slow down the root growth?
