blackgold, gold nugget, cheena had 20 years ago only good for cooking. Scale 1 to 10 give I give 1.5 for being alive

153
That cultivar does bleed I have large trees  ,and it also has soft wood large 4inch branches can shear from crop load and its not from weak inclulded bark. mangos wounds callus quickly don't over fert.

154
mangos bleed often but not citrus gummosis some trees deficient in copper will do that accompanied with classic s shaped growth.

You should check your water for total dissolved solids .tds meter you seem to have salts your past mango pics and now this burning up! may be you could make a filter or solar distillation unit

Easy to grow= like weed natal queen always very good to me perfect acid x sugar ratio. What good is sweetest without balance just wish they were bigger but you could eat  most of the core . Just sweet ? taste like bag of sugar.Think mangosteen without acid balance or lemon zest mango= not to great

Ok first self setting of vanilla beans for me,usually if I want beans I have to hand pollinate to get any. What is pollinating them in sw florida? They are growing up a large inga with black pepper and coffee under the tree had to trim tree recently to allow more light in .I looked up today to see beans yea!

I have seen this bee ? Euglossa dilemma

maybe leaf hoppers?

I have one left growing sort of sentimental reason have not seen much fruit for 10 years ,it also suffers from tip die back common in florida,up to you if you want continue to grow for very little gain ,especially in your climate.

Yes same storm but not maprang still have large ones it was marang the only fruiting one in florida.what kills me i did not propagate that abui when i had it that was the only abui that died to much root damage.Who knows how strong the gusts were in that storm but it was the worst for the island in like 100 years [guessing]

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: the best avocado to use for rootstock?
« on: March 21, 2017, 06:01:06 PM »
wayne clifton says  israelies use day for root stock supposed to have high salt tolerance. Here in florida I think the important attributes are for root disease and laurel wilt so whats going to be the magic bullet?

166
Thedom mulberry in our area are subject to nematodes. Being grafted to the right root stock can be life or death in the long run.Tice mulberry makes very good root stock or you could try and find over on peace rd some of the wild mulberry for root stock.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: What would you replace Mallika with?
« on: March 17, 2017, 09:55:14 AM »
Pina colada is good, and your near the coast so fruiting would be better for you.I have to work hard to get good fruit set for pina colada  but its worth it.Millika has been very consistent producing 300 to 500lbs a tree ,nutrients have to be in very good balance and then fruit will taste very good sometimes even ripe on the tree

174
That looks mighty good, how was the flesh was it rich or watery?
