My brother lived in chula vista had this adobe clay for soil  had to put drain pipes at bottom of planting hole for drainage and not plant to deep. Bill nelsen of pacific tree farms told me that planting method, new to a boy from florida

509
that's how you get new varieties ,poly can have sexual cross. re.dominant and recessive genes

 cold wet soil?

santol grafted is smaller ,and can be kept 16ft but seedlings on pineisland fl huge 40 foot when just start fruiting very upright growth.santol could grow outdoors in 10b cali pretty sure

512
so humid out on this island were all getting fungus including on me . but i planted grimal in the back near forest  no air  circulation so lots of rust ,but exotics love that spot

513
does any have issues with rust on grimals .I love good ripe grimal fruit

competing elements eg alot of free soil calcium, but if not receiving foliar multi elements most time multiple problems not to mention secondary root pathogens soil temp or moisture  ,but starfruit trees are tough  i wouldn't even worry about this tree soil cation capacity influences rate of app. of sulfur, soil life is more than worms

one unit of ph movement with sulfur a season per soil  makeup or can burn plant  and harm soil life! looks like lack of mg. but id use a good micro foliar spray, also they get winter induced  deficiency soil temps below 70 which will reverse when temps go up in spring, hard to correct in winter

 im looking for pitogo

never know what dominant or recessive genes in jaks ,but worth hedge row of say 10 plants 2ft apart good chance then. i had jak from kerla that was hard to determined when to pick leave to long it would harden  be bad, had to pick and ripen off tree it was the sweetest firm jak ive had. and i have 100+ trees grafts and seedlings .i have seen seedlings fruit in 3 years or that kerla jak grafted took 10 years the name was atomic bomb, very big round.
