Looks tasty JF, I would love to get some budwood of this variety to graft, and possibly a couple seeds if you have a couple to spare.
I have plenty of cherimoyas and atemoyas growing but I haven't ever even tasted a reticulata.....

looks like another case of Golden Sugar apple from TT...lol...A. glabra...being called something else....

but maybe its a decent tasting type? or some other fruit that looks similar??

If I had to bet, I'd say it's a stinkin pond apple.

So is that what those golden sugar apples from TT turned out to be?  Just a pond apple?

Thanks oscar, I will send you a message and we can set it up.
Here is fruit from one of my trees to compare

Fruits look great Oscar, I have been trying to get bud wood off of you from this tree for a couple years now. Maybe now that it's healthy we can finally make that happen. I have plenty of lucuma rootstocks to work with and I think this cultivar would do great here in San Diego.

Are they using Miguel's picture on that website??? And I don't think that's a rio grande in his picture

33
That's common from what I have observed. My CORG trees start off producing small seedless fruit, then medium sized seeded fruit- and eventually on probably it's 4th fruiting season it produces big fat fruits like the ones in your hand.
I prefer them when they are black ripe and about to wrinkle but unfortunately we have the same bird problem so I end up picking them at the earlier stage

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: IMBE graft compatibility?

Hey oscar, My imbe is about 8 foot tall and it's in a 50 gallon pot, so it has a very established root system.  I think I will give it a try- I might contact you to see if I could get some bud wood of some different garcinia's to try at the same time.

The hummingbirds here absolutely LOVE my black sapote flowers, I see them bring their babies to the tree all the time

Tropical Fruit Discussion / IMBE graft compatibility?

Does anyone have any experience grafting a G. Intermedia onto G. Livingstonei rootstock? I have a very large Imbe I want to graft the intermedia onto. Any experience with how well it will grow and fruit? Or am I better off just leaving the intermedia on its own roots? I am in Southern California so I think the IMBE would make a good rootstock.

I had very good success with cuttings, use new growth 5-7 inch green wood.
I have about 75% take within 10 days

I have a extra 5gallon African Pride that I am willing to trade..... It is a multi-grafted tree that has a "Chevaro"  (spelling??) cherimoya grafted onto it too.

Both grafts are about 20-24inches tall.....
