very small and tart flavor. it's more bird food/ornamental but i have tried some.
it's also used to make a free broom.

that looks like jambolan...s.cumini

i thought most diospyros species without a male tree nearby will ALWAYS give seedless fruit.

9
no biggie here in this hobby we do make mistakes all the time :P

yeah you can be sure that's a caimito because these came from big purple caimitos i had in a fruit fair. it's very young.

10
good video

the source you found the first pic had a mistake :P

the "mamon"-bullock's heart-a.reticulata is this one

no problem, they are short trees.

they are very good for containers and will give you fruit. the "red" is annona reticulata and is the best for containers..

i understand that cherimola is not easy in containers but you already have it in the ground. maybe the atemoya is a bit vigorous but it could survive in italy outside..*not sure.

myrtaceous plants are usually very tolerant of humid conditions but these are seasonal and don't really need something that fancy.

most tropicals are at least fairly tolerant but they do have the dry season.

14
i'm going to superplants tomorrow if you want to go.

15
birds love pretty much anything with small fruit. the jamaican cherry they didn't even let me taste it.

there's a royal palm near my house with many bird nests singing all day long.

very good tasting.

i ate a seedless one as well... this is probably the lack of pollination from a male.

so i have found pictures of balata that look like this...

but also like this... http://toptropicals.com/catalog/uid/Manilkara_bidentata.htm

there's a confusion but the first pictures are more reliable?

the beach apricot...well http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii108/7_Heads/Trees/Mimusops_maxima_02.jpg

more likely to be a beach apricot.

I have also been trying to get a solid ID on this, here in the DR, someone that has this tree, called it Lucuma, obviously its not the Pouteria lucuma, from Peru.

if we are talking about the same one, let me ask you, did you taste it? does it have a pasty consistency, with a slightly sweet maple taste?

well i have manilkara bidentata and the lucuma that alfonso sells as pouteria lucuma?

cool, look at your pm.

in cotui there is an old man named alfonso who has a farm and sells fruit trees from south america. i have gone there once and plan to go there again this year.
