Early mangos are ok nothing to write home about.  Few break 20 brix

I would just like to have a mango NOW it always makes me smile all these HORNBLOWERS who say mine is better than yours and often times they have never tasted mine, if i told you i have a cherimoya  that always blooms in jan. or real early feb. and has set fruit already you would most likely have one later that is superior .

I have only ever ate 1 and it was rather dry and gritty (think of a mouth full of ground egg shells with a bit of flavoring ) all tho i have heard they are quite good and juicy that is why i was asking if there where good named cultivars, before i start looking for wood.                           Patrick

adding to the list ,,,  jujube tea good for fatigue-insomnia-shortness of breath to name a few,, white sapote leaf tea for high blood pressure  and a sleep aid helps you sleep more restfully. the jujube tea i give my wife every morning with breakfast and the white sapote tea every night at bedtime, these i know work very well sometimes she also drinks loquat leaf tea good for the lungs and sometimes guava leaf tea. i mostly collect my YOUNG TENDER LEAVES when i prune or early in the growing season when i am getting new growth, "young leaves are more flavorful and not bitter " and i am assuming here that just like regular tea that the compounds are more prevalent in the younger leaves. i normally collect my leaves by the crate /box and dry them in the clothes dryer and store them for later use. DO NOT FORGET to clean out the dryer and lint trap.     Patrick

thanks  for the feed back Anisha i do not think it is a pollination issue as all 8 seeds are viable and sprouting after 3 days, Har there is no fluff at all the membrane around the seeds was as thin as tissue paper and VERY tuff,Simon this one looks just like what they have at southwestern college if you have ever seen that one, mangostein this was not meant to be a mystery topic or a click bait, simple a little bit of AMERICAN humor            Patrick

Hi All, i was given a ice cream bean a few days ago 2nd one i have had in my life , there was NOTHING TO EAT, just a vvvvery thin layer of membrane on the seed it was sweet but flavorless , so are there named varieties with something to eat in them or is this the norm??           Regards     Patrick
