Tropical Fruit Discussion / Before and After Pictures. Treating Fe deficient plants with Turfpro Fe formula
« on: July 01, 2012, 01:41:52 AM »
Here are some pics of my stubborn E. candolleana seedling...I had to drench this baby for a few months before she perked up, but I'm happy to say, its almost back to healthy...its about 90% recovered.
I used Turfpro Fe, one of the only organic Chelated Fe drenches on the market...I'm sure you can achieve the same results with any brand of chelated iron, (ironite liquid, etc...)
they green up from the bottom to the top! and some leaves will remain yellow, even thought the new growth is a healthy red color...Red growth on jabots and eugenias (sometimes pink or purple), is a sign of a happy plant!
Here is are some photos,
Before drenching regularly, only had been drenched minimally

After about 4 drenches, and 2 months...almost completely recovered and ready to bloom sooner!

Fe drench can make all of the difference! especially when growing acid loving plants with city water (high ph) or in south FL lime rock soil!!!
Happy drenching!
