I am looking to make a big order of fertilizers and micronutrients for my subtropical fruit trees.

I thought it would be smart to seek some advice from the forum on what to get.

Here is my list of trees if it helps:

-blueberry, raspberry, blackberry
-pomegranate
-figs
-citrus
-jaboticaba (nutrient deficient currently, also has powdery mildew)
-cherry of rio grande, surinam, grumichama
-guava
-dragonfruit (I heard these like epsom salt?)
-avocado
-mango (has powdery mildew)
-cherimoya
-canistel, mamey sapote, white sapote
-loquat, peach

We recently had some cold nights. Is the red tinge of the leaves due to some sort of cold shock?

I am planting 3 citrus trees.

One problem: the ground is nothing but rock and clay...

I have dug 4 feet deep, yet water continues to sit like its a bath tub. (I fill the hole to the brim, and in 24 hours, its drained about 60%. But I don't think that's good enough).

I added gypsum to the hole to penetrate into the ground. I hammered a crowbar into the bottom of the hole to get another foot deeper, and hopefully get through the clay layer.

What else should I do before planting these citrus? Elevate the rootball off the ground? Hugelkultur?

I have an oroblanco planted. Which tastes less similar to an oroblanco?

The UCR citrus collection says they don't currently have budwood for the tree.

I just got to try a Kinnow and wow is it tasty. Maybe the best flavor of any mandarin.

I'm trying to decide what would make the best potted fruit tree for someone with only a balcony and an interest in tropical fruit trees.

I was thinking a jaboticaba could be a good choice since it does well in a pot, and can space out a crop over the year.

What are your top 5? Are you basing it more on production or taste?

Tiny mangos have set, but there's powdery mildew very near.

I didn't spray the tree at all this year, hence the powder mildew issue.

Is it too late to spray? Would it be beneficial, and possibly save the fruits?

I've read that citrus trees produce better-tasting fruit as they get older.

Have taste tests been done between the fruit of a 5 year old tree, versus the fruit of a 30 year old tree?

Does this improvement in taste relate to a reduction in total crop yield?

I am trying to get my hands on the ruby tango to plant in my yard. The producer 'sunwest' in northern california claims they are the only producer of the fruit outside of Italy, where it originates. However, because of their agreement, they cannot give out graft wood.

My question is: although these are virtually seedless, assuming I find a few seeds, would planting them give me a fruit tree true-to-seed? The ruby tango is a natural cross between the Clemenules Mandarin and the Tarocco Blood Orange.

I have my avocados on a south facing wall. I've heard of farmers planting dragon fruit as a companion to the avocado. Anyone know if this would work?
