Tropical Fruit Discussion / Tropical seed scarification
« on: April 01, 2018, 12:35:12 AM »
Should one entertain scarification of large, hard shell tropical seeds or allow mother nature to work her magic in getting moisture inside? Is there inherent risk by pushing the germination speed this way or would it help by decreasing the chance of rot? Also I have seen many folks who surface sow rather than press them into the soil (with high humidity of course). Seeds in question would be akin to annona, artocatpus, sapote etc... I am paranoid of rot and patience in germination is NOT my strong suit, LOL! Mahalo!

« on: March 10, 2018, 01:53:56 PM »
Aloha! New to the forum, hope everyone here is well?!?! My first question is regarding Kesusu seed germination... I was able to procure several seeds and am worried I'll mess it up! Does anyone have any experience with starting this tree from seed? Mahalo!!!
