Yes, that's the common names. Is it still flowering? It is just the first flowering and still young, so hopefully it will set fruit the next season. The owner may look at it differently now that he knows he has a very special tree, one that he can use to make "Tejate" or the "Drink of the Gods!"

For those who have Annona crassiflora seedling originated from my seeds, I would like to reinforce the guidance: transplant your seedlings for tall pots (aerial part of plant = 10 cm, use pots with 40 cm tall, or bigger)

It shows that these seeds need very deep pots, and it may also explain why it take so long for it to sprout above ground, as it is spending so much energy developing a strong root system first. Also they don't like wet feet, so place in the best draining soil possible. I hope this helps more growers succeed with this annona! I'd love to hear what others have learnt about this annona.

Great to hear they sprouted so fast! Now for that bad news... So sorry about the mixed bag!
If you look in that bowl labelled as Annona coriacea, you will see two distinct set of seeds...

One a darker, longer, thinner, shinier seed, which I think most looks like a sugar apple seed...Annona squamosa...I count around 6-7 dark seeds...and looking at the lighter green seedlings on he right side of your tray, if I had to guess, they fit  A. squamosa, ....or something close to it.. maybe cherimoya/atemoya??

The other seeds in that bowl of A. coriacea are more lighter brown, and flatter...hard to tell, but agree seedlings do not look like A. coricea.

The Seeds in A. crassiflora look about right.

It reminds me of an Asian gourd, especially the inside of the fruit and seeds...but I can't pin it down to which one...look's close to the Coccinia..maybe close to coccinia grandis (ivy gourd) but the leaves are off a bit.

Do you have a picture of the whole fruit?

Keeping your location in mind, South Africa, there is a local Coccinia...Coccinia sessilifolia...It might be the one!

I don't have a picture, but Cherapu (garcinia prainiana) does have a unique look to them. The new growth is a very dark maroon, and the leaves have deep distinctive veining...It may help to post a picture of your plants and hopefully you can get them ID'ed.

I'm not an expert...but yes post some pictures..and I'm sure you'll get a few ID'ed.

Ps. And don't worry...it happens. I've lost labels, forgotten and even had my pets use them as a pull toy..

I came across this post while researching for info on Momordica dioica.
This is my Dad's favorite vegetable. I sent some seeds back home and so far my Dad has 6 vines that are finally producing; however, they keep dropping while still young. He believes he has 3 female vines and one male. Two vines, he's not sure on. Anyway, we're still trying to figure it out.

I just sourced some fresh seeds to send back home, and if you're still interested, I'd be happy to share some. Just PM me and let me know.

Kishus' and Improved Meyer lemons are all colored in, while Seto Satsuma is just showing a little color also.
The rest of my citrus are still green.
