I'm looking to acquire some seeds.  Had one before, but it died on me

152
Outdoors, but they're indoors when low temps drop into the fifties.  I had great gemination rates.

153
I live in SoCal, but I sprouted "Para" seeds.  Indirect sunlight, with gradual increments of sun as they get older.   Otherwise, they easily fry.  The pots are kept moist, and I give them coffee ground mulch & worm casting tea.

154
I have a lot of Arizona Purple and some of the American Beauty

155
For trade locally or for cost of shipping, Purple Haze Dragonfruit cuttings

If they're in season, try the rambutan, santol (preferably with fermented shrimp paste) and lonzones

157
Yeah, it'll make new shoots.  I had a seedling less than 3 inches tall sprout new shoots when the top of it died.  As a mature tree, it made harvesting the fruits easier, as it had 3 stems where the fruit formed.

You could've tried to root the broken part.  I'm rooting shoots successfully from my sunrise papaya

158
I already have Purple Haze.  I still have cuttings available

159
Having a plethora of pups shooting up.  I have large & small sized rooted pups in 5 gal containers

160
Beauregard sweet potato slips, well rooted in water.  I eat sweet potato almost daily and saw Youtube videos on how productive growing them in containers can be.  Thusly, I decided to buy some.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Rock dust for remineralization
« on: July 02, 2015, 11:56:12 PM »
What rock dust do you use to remineralize your soil?  I've been using Azomite, but have been decreasing the frequency of usage & amount I add when making worm compost tea.  I know of Gaia Green Glacial & CBD Stone Flour, too.

I believe John Kohler of Growingyourgreens.com utilizes too much rock dust, IMO

It's a very refreshing fruit, and I love the crunch the seeds give.  I have a good amount of varieties & don't care too much for trellising, but they are very good to eat, especially chilled on a hot day

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / WANTED:Rooted Katuk
« on: June 19, 2015, 02:30:16 PM »
I was interested in growing katuk again, seeing as how I gave my last one's full sun, which wasn't ideal.

164
Bittermelon, very healthy for you.  Plus, bitter foods are great for blood sugar control

165
I was researching tamarillos (tree tomatoes) & sunchoke, and became quite interested in growing them.  Does anyone have any to spare?

166
In need of pruning these two, because they're growing to the roof

I also don't think inorganics like azomite will be enhanced by being in this mixture rather than applied separately.

The non-granulated forms of rock dusk, like azomite, are micronized powders.  These get in the air.  It's best to mix with water or to buy the granulated versions.  Thus, mixing in azomite with compost tea

I pugged my Sunrise papaya tree, because it was getting too tall.  It's starting to shoot new growth now.  I'm thinking of just starting new seedlings like they do in Hawaii.  Young trees have the most fruit production

Recipes / Re: Kombucha Recipe?
« on: April 26, 2015, 04:38:17 PM »
I use green tea when I make kombucha.  Sometimes, I'll add bits of fresh ginger or citrus juice.  Otherwise, I'm fine just drinking as is

I have a sunrise papaya from seeds that I bought from University of Hawaii at Manoa.  It's grown well, although I lost quite a few seedlings due to cold through the years.

Bad odor is because of too much nitrogen & not enough carbon
