Tropical Fruit Discussion / Shortest fruiting time tree
« on: January 26, 2013, 01:07:25 PM »
I am thinking of buying a fruit tree. What would the best one be? The qualities I look for in a tree are: short fruiting time, self-fertile, and prolific. Fruit qualities: tasty :P, and medium sized. I know those are pretty specific, but I'm sure there are a few such trees. THANKS  ;D

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Fruit 'n spice park.

I keep hearing all these great things about Fruit and Spice park, but I don't really know anything about it. I looked at the website, but it didn't really say much. So, how does it work? Do you pay, get in, and walk around picking fruits? I doubt that's the case but I don't know.  :(

Tropical Fruit Discussion / When to go to Miami
« on: January 13, 2013, 09:23:18 PM »
It's pretty much been decided that I am getting a trip to Miami for my birthday. When would be the best time of year to go? I'm not really comfortable with giving out the month of my birthday, but suffice to say that not much fruit would be in season...

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Finger limes - buy or not?
« on: January 07, 2013, 02:03:44 PM »
I'm having trouble deciding if I should buy finger limes or not. If I did, they would be from www.goodlandorganics.com. The reason I am indecisive about them is that I'm not sure about the flavor. Will the taste more or less like a lime, or will they be sweeter? Are they commonly eaten out of hand, or not? I need to decide quickly because the next shipment is tomorrow.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Cherimoya help
« on: January 07, 2013, 01:54:39 PM »
I successfully sprouted 4 cherimoyas ( using the 4 day soak technique ) and now that I've sprouted them, I've realized that I don't know what to do with them. When I say that, I mean that I don't know the sun requirements, watering requirements or anything. I probably could have found these things out with Google, but I thought it would be better to ask the experts.
