Tropical Fruit Discussion / Bender's Grove is OPEN!
« on: September 17, 2017, 09:55:54 AM »
Hi everyone, Hope everyone in South Florida is recovering. We have had a hellish week needless to say but we
are open regular hours Wednesday through Sunday 10-5 if anyone needs replacement trees. We lost about 30% of our inventory and the grove itself is on the road to recovery. Still have lots of Tree removal to go but the Nursery is in full operation. We could use some support, so anything we can help anyone with, we are here and determined to make this place better than ever! Hope all are safe and ready to re-plant!

Thanks everyone, looking more like the west coast will get the brunt, so many friends and customers there.
We I am sure will get significant damage to the grove but certainly if the forecast holds true it may not totally devote us. I have never prayed as much as I have this week. Thanks for all the kind thoughts, we are ready as can possibly be lets hope I can stay in biz! Love you all!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Category 4 Hurricane Irma

There was a raid on the bottled water at Home Depot today. Where residents in this area were woefully unprepared for Wilma's attack, folks here tend to over-prepare nowadays. Those post-Wilma memories of waiting literally 8 hours at the gas station for a few gallons of gas and shopping the only open wal-mart in the county under the light of flashlights and "cash only" purchases really molded a generation.
Be safe bro! Already resigned to the fact I will lose the nursery/grove, Just praying for my house

I have not posted in a while, just wanted to wish everyone good luck and be safe in Florida.
We are resigned to the fact that this may be our end at Bender's Grove, We don't know what the next few days will bring,
we expect the worst while we hope for the best. small businesses like mine are usually the hardest hit, we cannot afford
insurance for our little nursery/grove, so have no clue if we can recover. Please be safe, good luck all! Mike Bender
