I guess I'm lucky! My wife is keeps telling me to rip out the bottle palms and plant more mango trees!
As long as I plant mangos SHE likes. She won't help me in the yard but she will eat, give away and brag about our "strange fruit"

Hudson SP0 is a great backpack sprayer! Sprays anything! From powder to oil base stains lol

So is the Pitangatuba the "Starcherry" ? And is that as good taste wise as the Barbados cherry? I love the Barbados it has a real cherry like component to it...
And rob where do I get a Pitangatuba of good quality?

Here in the States, Adam is your man.  He will have specific varieties available in teh future.  I have a small plant that is less than 2 ft tall that has 2 fruits on it atm.

Not sure I would say different varieties but instead plants with potentisl different characteristics.   Dont think enough monitoring and samplings/testings have been done to proclaim them as varieties.   Just my 2 Susan B Anthonys on the situation. ..

I most certainly will proclaim them as varieties.

And there are at least 2 or 3 worth propagating...(the species shows amazing variation)

First to be released is "Lemon head"...it makes a smaller, more pale fruit, that doesn't have pronounced ridges...(unlike all the common types that are costate like a pitanga)

When they are perfectly ripe, they remind me of a lemon head candy...sour / sweet delicious....tasting different that the other trees I have for sure.

Then there is an elongated type, and also a tree that makes huge fruits (as seen in my hand on my eBay listing for starcherry seedlings)

And then there is my favorite tree...it may never be released...I'm thinking to only sell its fruit...its firmer than all the rest, and can be eaten early, and it's noticeably sweeter than the others.
So ADAM why would not sell it and get it out into the world if it's that good? Last thing we need is another amazing fruit we can't get lol
If you decide to sell on please but me on the list! In fact I'll be your south Florida  Guinea pig...... Lol

91
I want one!

92

Just a few pics of mine... These are both just under 3 yrs old tallest one is just over 3feet tall and flushing like crazy

93
I got the Stihl 3.5 gallon.  Works amazing, very easy to pump, nozzle works great.

Looks like they just changed the design for 2016.

http://www.stihlusa.com/products/sprayers/backpack-sprayers/sg20/

If you really want to lay down the kelp spray, you can go with the gas powered version.

Solo is 5 gallon with plastic wand and lower pressure, Hudson is a 4 gal brass wand triple pressure valve can spay anything and it mixes as you pump it up. I have no problem with it at all! Had solo round up and a few others over the years and this is the best by far

94
I have a 4 gal, hudson SP0 backpack , came with 4 different nozzles including a fan tip!!!! it is a great sprayer had it for a few years its a piston/diaphragm combo, brass wand real comfy straps and if it ever need to be rebuilt you can do it yourself!  at least work looking into

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Sweet Tart vs. Fruit Punch
« on: February 02, 2016, 07:02:16 PM »
I have had all 3! I would say sweet-tart is awesome but may be a little sweet to eat all the time.... kinda like eating cotton candy a little goes a long way, f/p is a top tier mango also very fruity and mangoy (if thats a word) at the same time! Now honey kiss.... if picked at the right time and eaten when ripe OMG like a mango dipped in honey with a few other flavors going on there.... I know taste buds are different but please try and get a properly ripened honey kiss trust me you will not regret it!

Thats most likely a jackfruit in full sun, mine in full sun has narrow leaves. Its a type of jackfruit tho, the branch structure gives it away.
I promise you it's not a jackfruit!
