Hey Brad.
What can I say. What a beautiful garden.

2
I tried looking for farfield but can't find it. members talk about commercial line too so I was wondering if this is the right one? I found it at a shop in South el Monte for 30 bucks out the door about 10bucks cheaper then other place I have scoped. 3.8cuft yoo

Hey Boxturtle,
Which store did you go to?
I search the PROMIX website and there's no store in South El Monte.
The closest distributor was in Ontario.

3
funlul,
That's great your grafts worked out and now fruiting.
The past 2 years went fast.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Why does this happen to avocados?

According to the label, they are CA Haas.
I had the same problem with rotten avocado's from Costco.
I think JF posted the same issue a while back.
I'm not a expert but they seem a bit large for CA Hass compare to store bought at Staters, Albertsons

Take care and get well fast.
My dad has gout, exercise when you can, eat better and find the correct amount of meds to take that doesn't mess with other functions.

7
JF,
It's been a while.
Avocados trees look very healthy.
One of mine dropped most all the leaves (I probably should cover it), the other is fine.
Hope to see you soon.

Socal10b,
Looking good.
From your pic the Lamb Hass trunk sure grew from year 1 to 2.
You must have good soil.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: El Bumpo Avocado? Naw, can't be....
« on: March 02, 2014, 09:10:07 PM »
Maybe Whitsell. That is what mine looked like very bumpy, but my tree will only fruit a few a year.
I have been trying to change the variety by re-grafting, top working to a few more productive types.

13
That's the address on the OC web site. Not sure about the zip.
Got of of work so I'll make it..finally :)

I would like to try girdling my non producing avocado tree before I top it off.
is girdling done on green or brown wood?
How close to the trunk?

Hey Rodney,
Looks good, I'll have to make a visit again to see how the rest of your garden is doing.

16

Good job Ed on your first avocado graft.
I have not been so lucky.
I've been trying to top graft (cleft) my in ground tree but I've lost 90% grafts.

Nice garden Rodney, hope I can get my green thumb going like the rest of you guys and gals.

21
Hoping to hear a updated positive status on your Lila.
I'm thinking of trying Superthrive myself soon.
My Holiday has a lot of die back, down to about a foot and a half. Leaves have fallen off and new growth has dried up.

22
Its been probably 10 years but I was able to carry on cut
Plumeria cuttings in a shopping bag from Aloha stadium in
Oahu right on to the plane.
They did asked what plant they were.
Unless something has changed.
You might still be able to do that.

23
minimum 2x per variety 16 goes right there.

we should split per variety with 2 people, i don't need a spare scion. Anyone interested?

I can split some avocado scions with you.  Planning on getting Murashige and Kahaluu?

yes sir. That's what we should have done split orders among two people.  ;)

I would split too but the two I want are the same as reality and yourself. Murashige and Kahaluu.
I guess if another member is looking for the same I can split.

24
Behl,
Thanks for spending your time to get this together. Disappointed that so many backed out.
Maybe someone here has the various Hawaiian avocado/fruit varieties that will be willing to give or sell seeds/scions locally?

25
Behl,

My order is correct- Murashige and Kahaluu.

Also PM'd you.

Thanks,
othater
