Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Matoa Seeds
« on: September 05, 2016, 08:44:01 AM »
I had a similar experience to Jacob.....10 seeds and all of the germinated.

152
My seeds arrived today, in good condition. 3 of them
had already begun to sprout. Thanks!

What it taste like?

slightly bitter, very soft texture like a melon i guess, but softer...medicinal, lots of beta-carotene i suppose...it would be good to blend into a smoothie, but not something I personally would want to eat in excess as a fresh fruit...but I do enjoy eating the red slimy arils fresh!

Pretty sure thats a pingan (Artocarpus sarawakensis), Did you plant any of those?

I think you  have identified it. I did buy some seeds last year.

Thanks!

Missing a label on this one. The leaves have a rough texture on the top and the
edges have a fine, hairlike feel.

Walked out back to find this Dragon Fruit bloom on my grape arbor. The person I
purchased the DF from labeled it as Physical Graffiti.

You're welcome. I would also like to hear someone's opinion. Sounds/looks good,
but $228 + shipping isn't cheap.

There is only one US distributor listed to date.

Thanks for the information. Do you have a website for the USA distributor?

I just read through all the manuals and this piece of equipment is legit and well thought out. This piece of equipment should be tested out by grafters in Florida, California and other regions that are serious about plant propogation. From the information I've gathered, this piece of equipment can be very useful for nurseries performing high volumes of grafts.

The company is extremely responsive and I pretty much got an instant response. Here is what a representative had to say:

Hello Simon,

If you go to the FAQ tab a lot of answers to common questions will be found. The manuals tab will also allow you to view or download user manuals. When I have access to wi-fi I will also send a few pdf brochures to you.
Also, if you click on the youtube link at the bottom of the home page you will be directed to our video channel. There are many film clips showing use applications and tool functions.

Thank you for your interest.

Did you go to the NZ site or the US distributor? The NZ site requires you to purchase from the US distributor and they mark up the price of the
shears about $40, from $181 to $228.

Regards,

I'm on it!

I'm trying to keep up better with correspondence..

i had a some help from a great guy (Nathaniel Fenton of www.Shadowoodfarm.com)...

he came and did some wicked grunt work in the greenhouse, helping me weed and clean!

so as a result, I've had more time and energy to fill orders!

My Myrciaria vexator arrived today, in good shape. Thanks Adam!

I appreciate all the suggestions everybody. Coyote, would Page or Dekopon make your list of the top five.

Andrew, you can buy a Temple Orange from this Florida Nursery/grower.

Millet

Looks like I'm out of luck again. Just checked it out and they are out of stock on the Temple.

P.S. Sorry for posting this in the wrong forum. I'm not used to posting in the citrus forum and didn't know that there was a buy and sell section.

Harris Nursery has dwarf temple:

Thanks Derek!

Very nice. Your fig tree looks healthy and full. What
kind is it?

That's great news Raul and Nengzie.

The ones I planted immediately all germinated and the ones I thought I destroyed by soaking
too long have begun to germinate.

172
My Nam Doc tends to drop fruit overnight and I attributed it to cooling and
contraction.

My Kent drops equally during day and night and I figured it's due to the weight of
the fruit.

Squirrels don't roam at night due to the superior eyesight of owls in the dark. Also,
the squirrels have to rest overnight due to extending so much energy climbing around
in my tree taking small bites of all my mangoes.  >:(

Tropical Fruit Discussion / What an Amazing Forum
« on: August 12, 2016, 11:48:15 AM »
Recently, I lost some purchased seeds due to one package going through Miami and
the 2nd batch due to knocking over the growing container. Both sellers have offered
to send me replacements at no charge ( I would love to mention their names but suspect
they prefer I not). The members of TFF are generous in sharing their supplies and their
knowledge.

Thank you!
