Here is a photo of a Pickering growing in Sanford. I transfered it from a 3 gallong pot to a 15 gallon potin late 2012. Problem I had this year it was in full bloom in mid January so I got very little fruit set.
Jim, I do not see a picture? Unless its just my computer!?!
Please repost, Thanks!!
Same here.
38 degrees this morning but only light frost thank goodness! Everything seems fine so far...
Wow, Nancy you've had a rough winter. Is this weather unusual for this late in the winter?? Wish you the best of luck...spring is right around the corner
The wind shift ocurred here at 10:30 AM. The temperature has dropped from 73o to 65oF.

Should have stuck with the Chocolate Trinity plan, but I get easily swayed by bright packaging colors.
A far as ice cream goes that stuff was nice, but any actual flavor as labeled was pretty lacking. If we were blindfolded and asked to identify the flavor, for mango I would have guessed creamsicle (and I haven't had one of those in 35 years). I cant come up with what the Mamey tasted like, but it wasn't like any of the few mamey I have had.
The mango sorbetto talked about in this thread is much better.

This is a 3 gallon Pickering as far as shipping I dont have a account with FedX they will be the cheapest going to open one the first of the year. Shipping is so much. I have a one gallon var sappadilla for Greenthumb the shipping was more than the plant. Makes me feel like a thief. I will check after the first
Another wicked cold front blew through South Florida over night. Daytime highs have plunged to 76 F. Burrrrrrr!
I 'm also searching for a pomegranate that has small seeds, can stand high humidity and produces well.
Does anybody have one ?
I am part of the Florida Pomegranate Association, and I have been testing out in my house the sirenevyi, desertnyi, and the angel red pomegranates which all are said to have small seeds. So far the most vigorous one is the desertnyi, but they have not fruited yet so I have not tried them. They will most likely fruit this year. Would you like a cutting anyway?
