Laguna Hills Nursery here sell these small grafted avocados for $30 each.

Might be a good size for shipping oversea.

The "C" on the bags stand for Carmen.

3
I'm using medium barks from HD and orchid barks.
The orchid barks are better looking.

If you want to retain water you should use compost then mulch over compost.

Those black tanks would be good to store heat.
No room inside for those tanks?

I let Reed self thinning to slow down the growth.
My friend's tree has less fruits so the fruits are huge, 50% bigger than mines.
Trade off.

I had 2 pots of a big red variety. Died over winter.
My 4 other varieties can over winter here.

They grow fast in summer so that 2G pot is a bit small.

11
Those leaves are old growth so the tree had excess water.
If the new leaves starting to curl stop watering.

12
Over watering.

13
That one worth 3x as the real one here.

1 on AP
1 on cherimoya

Had 2 sugar apple seedling last year.
Only 1 survived over winter .
I don't use it as rootstock here.

How many buds would come out when you laid cutting on its side?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: repotting avocado, downsizing
« on: May 01, 2020, 06:23:36 PM »
I only avoid repotting a few days before and a few days after frost.

You should do it now.
If your tree has poor roots leave tree in shade after repotting.

My avocado tree needs 2 gallon of water every morning else branches droop in the afternoon heat.

hump then thorn

Wood rot so we switched to galvanized fence post.
Galvanized fence post in concrete in #5 pot.

Buried in ground.

Added wood to top of post.

American Beauty DF has flower buds right now.

Is that albino citrus grafted or seedling?

Cold is one of the many factors that trigger flowering.
There is no myth.

They are the only pests on my guava.
I drop them to the ground and step on them before they fly off.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: 2020 lychee crop good or not?
« on: April 19, 2020, 02:53:04 PM »
I air-layered 2 longan branches when the tree started flowering.
Each branch had more fruits than the rest of the tree.

I suggest you try girdling when your lychee starting to flower.
