Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: fighting against asshole neighbor
« Last post by arc310 on Today at 01:09:20 AM »
if you decide to just trim the tree up to your property line...just make sure everything is done legally and code. even if that neighbor doesn't and hasn't done anything to that tree...he might just throw a hissy fit just cause you decided to do something about it.

personally i've always thought and acted like anything in my property is my responsibility. one side has avocados which i have no issues with...the other has an oak tree (city protected tree too!) which leaves a huge mess so i just inform the neighbor my trimmers might need to go over to trim/clean up etc.

at this point if i were you, i'd find out for sure if you trim the tree back to the property line that the neighbor can't do anything about it. i know it sucks but it seems to be affecting your happiness and the good times you can be having gardening back there that just trimming that dang branch will bring you much relief.

Thanks Alex. Hope u get some takes.
Pedalai seeds added.

Cola Acuminata, Sundrop, and pointy sundrop are sprouting.

Are these ripe (yellow) or are they the mature but not yellow yet, that you can make chow with?

I'll try to embed the picture tomorrow but there green.
Will ripened up if you give it a week or so.
Good for chow or salt and pepper at this stage
Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Starfruit won't set fruit

My Kari did not hold fruit till the 4th year (bought as a stick) in the ground. It has never produced 2 crops, while my Kajang fruited younger and neither reliably gave me two seasons. Taste I feel is nearly equal.

I pulled my Bell as I planted three wanting to keep the best, the Kajang may be on the chopping block next as I don't need two starfruits. I over planted fully expecting to wind up with one tree but did not want to plant them sequentially and waiting many years to sample them.

That texture of buttercream is out of this world. Very smooth & bith are absolutely delicious.

I picked up them today and the Scions are great condition.  Grafted them to my trees and hopefully they sprout soon.
