Sorry if i'm being dumb, but... what is specially edible with this bamboo? I had eaten other Phyllostachis and were ok.

... Self-answered... bigger and hardier than other Phyllos, and probably even more complicated to control and contain.
You might prefer a smaller species, nigra is very pretty...
