My scale awaits me in Bermuda.

LOL, yeah, I've put on 20 pounds this summer.  Of course its all muscle ;) .... If you cut my biceps, mango would pour out :).

It's been a very cool thread and project, thanks for the nice write ups.  It was great seeing you again and meeting Cal.  See you next Summer

Thanks a bundle Sleepdoc.  You have been tremendous.  Take care.

My final entries: yesterday I have my one and only Neelam.  A small mango that stayed green when ripe.  It tasted like...mango...juicy, rich and medium sweetness.  Very easy to eat, little fiber.

I also had a Carrie which proved to be a winner once again.  It made the Neelam seem so so by comparison.  Indeed this is a fine selection with fruity tones, sweet taste and a good seed to flesh ratio.  Very much enjoyed this solo Carrie.

This morning I had the last of the Pram Kai Mea mangoes.  The seeds in these are amazingly thin.  When slicing the mango it seems as thought I am cutting it right down the middle but the seed remains.  Very sweet and delightful mango.

I do have he red sugar apple left that is semi ripe.  Will save that to eat on my flight back home.

It has been a pleasure to share my extended experience this year.  Look forward to seeing all the contributors and partners again next year.

Peace.

Domdonv post under the buy/sell/trade forum. You will get more potential feedback, especially if you are willing to cover the shipping or trade. It may be easier and more reliable to offer monetary incentive if you are looking for specific scions. Just check your import regulations.
Grow mainly fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

Thanks for the wonderful reviews Future!

After all the mangos you tasted recently, can you give us a top five based on flavor? These write ups are especially informative for those of us that do not have easy access to all these wonderful mango varieties. Although it is best to taste a mango variety before purchasing a tree, that is not always possible and even though everyone has their own personal taste preferences, flavor profiles given by mango enthusiasts at least give us some idea as to what could be expected. Thanks again for the great reviews!

Simon

Good idea SG. This was on my mind also.  Noting as always thus is purely my personal experience based on the mangoes below and that on any given day the list could change...and picking a top 10 is impossible.

Top 10 in reverse order
10. Ewais
9. Piņa Colada
8. Dot
7. Gary
6. Zill Indochinese
5. Fruit Punch
4. Coconut Cream
3. Orange Sherbert
2. PPK
1. Lemon Zest

Leaving out Dupuis Saigon, Pram Kai Mea, Pim Seng Mun, Taralay and Seacrest were tough choices.

Full list

I went through your reviews and don't see any mention of Sweet Tart experience? Older forum member mention Sweet Tart as improved ZINC. I'm a big fan of Sweet Tart. Wondering why you chose one over another? Also you never described Angie?

Please try to describe Maha Chanok. I have my own opinion here, but wondering about your take.

I'm waiting for few more ripen including 3 ZINC's before my final top 10, but I can tell you already Nr. 1 does not match :P

DL: I had to think about this myself and solved the mystery: I did taste a Sweet Tart but it was at Harry's tasting event...among 14 other varieties.  I did not write any reviews from that tasting event based volume, time.  The event was something to be experienced!

Thanks for the note on ST being a selection from ZINC (which is poly...). I was not able to compare the two directly. Chris at TT puts Zinc in her top 5. It makes my top 6.  To make it a fair fight, I would need to have Ice Cream at the table - not one seemed to have any available this year.  The only thing missing from my dream list which is pretty awesome!

Angie from memory is a good "mango tasting' mango.  Mid sized, low fiber and an all around mango taste. On its own, it is a good mango.  Up against the heavyweights, it goes to the back burner. No disrespect to Angie intended.

My memory of MC has faded since last year.  Harry had one this year but I think it may have seen the fridge. It is always a good mango but the fridge takes its toll on any mango.  From memory, it is a great dessert mango, often taking the top prize at Harry's events, which says a lot.  But I must confess, after scores of mangoes....I must refresh my memory with experience....next year...

I dont believe ZINC is poly.

You are probably right.  I had its Camodiana origins in mind but don't recall from seed inspections...

The parentage of ZINC is unknown/not verified.
