Are you planing on using these seeds as rootstock? or is it just for hobby?  if your looking for trees to grow for fruit, i would suggest buying grafted varieties, it will save years, and you will also know what your getting.  If you must have seed,  Mango seeds are pretty easy to get now because they are in season, try and get locally grown, because imported varieties may have gone through hot water treatment or radiation.

I don't know if there are any New Zealanders on this forum. No one has marked their location as New Zealand on the member map. However, there are at least a couple of NZers on the rarefruit yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rarefruit/

I would suggest posting there to get the freshest seeds.

I know there are a lot of Permaculture folks in NZ, you might want to check in related forums, who knows you may be able to get some plants also.
