Camarinhas (corema album)
« on: November 03, 2015, 02:49:14 PM »
Hi!

Sorry, I had put this post on the wrong place! It is a temperate fruit.

Photo from Wikipedia.

Got the scions, some with a few roots and also fruits with seeds!

What a strange-looking fruit. How would you describe the flavor?

Hi!

The taste is bittersweet and very uncommon. Sometimes camarinhas get the size of marbles, but this year they are very small.

The flavour is great, i love them! I can't describe the flavour. Just it's very good... And it's very good in medicinal terms. It cures cystitis.  :P

I hope they root in the soil mixture I made!

Looks very interesting, i have never heard of them! Do you have any idea how cold-hardy they could be? Any chance they would grow in zone 7b/8a? Where do you got the cuttings?

Hi!

I don't know how hardy could they be. I got mine in Portugal, but I was looking for them for years. They are common in other areas.
