Avocado lace bug

Just figured out what this is.
Now to treat it.  Will insecticidal soap work if I do it every week or soon the underside of the infected leaves?

Hi Gwenn,  yes soap will work on lace bug. Have some lace bugs right now on my citrus. I add a foliar feed when spraying the soap that way do double duty with just one spraying.

How much rain do you get at your farm (I saw you said very rainy Hawaii)? I live in a rain forest, so I think I will be picking your experienced brain a lot!

Our average rainfall is 150 inches/year. That is one reason i double up insect spraying and foliar feeding. It's often difficult here to find a dry spell when you can be certain the spraying will not be all washed off by rain in a few minutes. One of the common situations of living in a rainforest.

The last 2 years have been horrible here, over 200 inches in 2010, about 180 in 2011. My trees dislike it a lot but the bugs, diseases and weeds seem to thrive on it.  And it keeps me from taking proper care of things.

We've had opposite last two years, with 2010 being the driest year ever at 65 inches, and i think 2012 was also only 85 inches. Problem here with long dry spells is that after 2 weeks of no rain we are in a drought. Lava rock doesn't heve much water retention at all! And right away the plants start to suffer.
