Yes, it is normal for blueberries to lose all their leaves.  Mine wouldn't survive the snow load if they still had leaves!

My 'Chandler', 'Top Hat' and 'Brigitta'  blueberries this morning:

The snow drifts make them look small!  I'll have to wait another 3 months for flowers, but they have certainly met their chill requirements.

Yeah, JF - mine lose their leaves, sometimes not all,  but it is quite normal.  I lost a couple Blues this winter -
I'm thinking the soil wasn't acidic enough - probably should have kept them in pots, though I did plant them in
pure peat moss and have been feeding them with Aluminum Sulfate and coffee grounds occassionally, I think
the tap water is just too hard on their ph requirements....

Thanks MangoDog and CoPlantNut

I'm going to leave it in the 15 gallon. What do you do to keep the birds away?

hmmmm....well....they are so new I don't think the birds have figured them out yet....but what would I do if
they did?  Try strips of aluminum foil maybe tied to branches.....or cover them with a net.....
