Nurseries Near Conshohocken, Pennsylvania
« on: May 21, 2019, 09:26:13 PM »
I will be traveling to Pennsylvania for a lacrosse tournament. Does anyone know of any nurseries/stores that might have some tropical fruit trees and other edibles? There's a home depot near by, would their plant section be worth exploring?

Looking specifically around Conshohocken

Pennsylvania is not a tropical or subtropical area and it will be odd for their nurseries to sell tropical fruit plants.
Have you explored those famous tropical fruit farms in Porto Rico? Good luck. Triphal.

Hi i live near there.   Otts Exotic Plants in schwenksville has a variety of citrus and tons of (non-fruiting) tropicals and succulents in a neat greenhouse.  Home depot, walmart, and lowes currently sell small citrus trees but they are all from the same grower it seems.  Meyer lemon, eureka, lime, navel orange.

There isnít much to be found for sale around here.  Mine are almost all from out of state.  When i was in Florida I was amazed at how cheap and plentiful tropcal trees were at big box stores.  Here youll see mostly apples, stone fruits, and berries.

Longwood Gardens is an hour or so from there.  Famous place, the have a huge greenhouse section.  Nothing is for sale, though

I have a bunch of citrus trees I intend to get rid of by winter.  If you would like one let me know.  Maybe you can bring some mangosteen from PR!

If you're looking for some figs, I could refer you to Bass in Bethlehem.
