Citrus worth planting?
« on: May 30, 2019, 08:48:27 AM »
So Iím thinking of bringing my citrus trees down to FL and putting them in the ground within the food forest Iím building but is it worth it with the greening issues?

I can not forsee a remedy for hlb appearing magically in the next near future. You can do as I do. Love your citrus, take good care of it, use only "clean" wood to graft with and hope for a defeat of greening. There will be a fix......

You can not bring citrus into FL from any other state. Just a heads up.

I guess my question is greening inevitable on Florida citrus? What percentage of trees get it?

It is rampant in Florida now and sure to spread. Hence the quarantine....no citrus/related in or out of FL.

The chance of your citrus tree contacting HLB in Florida is about 100%.  It is just a matter of time.
