SELLING RARE PLANTS FROM PUERTO RICO! (13 MORE PLANTS ADDED)
« on: November 02, 2019, 07:33:37 PM »
I am selling many different potted plants. the name and photo of the plant will be down below. Shipping cost will vary depending on your location, size of plant, and if I ship barerooted/in the pot. Message me for questions and to purchase to not crowd the thread. I will ship anywhere in the world, but I can not take responsibility for plants being seized for international orders. Also be mindful of your weather conditions when ordering, I can't be responsible for plants damaged from weather/high or low temperatures.

Herrania sp.
Not sure of the variety for this one, but it is different than the two after this. It is a adult plant and can fruit in 1-3 years if planted in ground in optimal conditions

$50

Herrania sp. 2
Again not sure the variety on these two, they have similar leaves but they might also be two seperate species as well. cant confirm either way until they flower/fruit and even then it can be difficult

Left Plant $45, right plant $60

Giant Lau Lau/Java Pear - Syzgium megacarpa
Bought the seeds from the hawaii, easy growing plant. Fruit looks cool. 3 plants available.

$25 each

Grimal Jaboticaba

seedling grown plants. Large Fruit. 2 plants available.

$20

$40

Belize Blackberry - Eugenia sp.

seeds from tradewindsfruit. very fast growing.

$25

Red Jaboticaba

Fast fruiting Jaboticaba with red fruits.3 plants available

$25 each

Ketembilla/Ceylon Gooseberry -Dovyalis hebecarpa
Purple fruit with a taste like cranberry, but more palatable. It is called cranberry here locally even though its not actually a cranberry.

$35

Cola Lepidota
rare cola nut species with sweet edible flesh surrounding the seeds, said to be one of the best tasting and sweetest of all species. Large fruits.

2 plants available,  $35 each

Green Water Apple
Green Fleshed variety of Water Apple

$25

African Miracle Plant - Thaumatococcus daniellii

Seed - raw or cooked. A very sweet flavour
When the raw seed is chewed, it affects the taste buds so that, for about an hour thereafter, any sour foods that are eaten or drunk seem to have a sweet flavour
The seeds are also used for sweetening bread, fruits, tea etc
The aril of the seed contains a sweet-tasting protein (thaumatin) that can be used as a substitute for sugar, also in low caloric diets and drinks
Because of the persistent sweet aftertaste, it also 'sweetens' normally bitter or sour substances
Thaumatin is the sweetest of known natural and synthetic substances, 2,000 - 3,000 times sweeter than sucrose
The leaves are used for wrapping food

2 plants available, $25 each

Malay Lac Tree/Kusum Tree - Schleichera oleosa/size]
Young leaves and shoots - raw, cooked in soups or steamed and served with rice
The ripe fruit is eaten raw, A pleasantly acid flavour
Unripe fruits are pickled
An oil obtained from the seed, called macassar oil, is sometimes used for culinary purposes

$25

Ricinodendron heudelotii/size]
good tasting edible seeds and leaves high in protein. native to Africa

2 plants available, $35 each

Dacryodes Edulis - Safou/Butterfruit
African fruit similar looking and tasting to avocado, seed is also edible. seeds are from special giant fruited variety

$50

Java Almond - Sterculia foetida
Edible Nut

$35, might have 2-3 to sell

pentadesma butyracea - Butter Tree
Extremely useful and rare tree. Edible sweet fruit, edible seed, edible fat similar to shea butter, and leaves are edible.

5 plants available, $25 each

Araca Boi - Eugenia stipitata
nice sized yellow fruit, smell and flavor similar to passionfruit, fantastic for processing, and can be eaten out of hand if you like sour fruits

Many plants available of similar size, $25 each, can potentially discount for multiple plants

Sundrop - Eugenia victoriana
nice sized yellow fruit, smell and flavor similar to passionfruit, fantastic for processing, and can be eaten out of hand if you like sour fruits

Probably a couple plants I would sell, $25 each

Grumichama - Eugenia brasiliensis
cherry like fruit, I have seen people compare this eugenia the most to temperate cherries, seeds are from all different colored varieties including red, yellow, purple, and black

$17.50 each, 20+ plants available, can potentially discount for multiple plants

Emerald Cacao - Theobroma angustifolium(RARE THEOBROMA)
Cacao like fruit, similar tasting pulp and seeds able to be used to make chocolate, much rarer in cultivation than theobroma cacao

2 plants available for now, $25 each

Cacao - Theobroma Cacao
Where chocolate comes from, edible sweet pulp. Seeds are grown from different rare grafted varieties such as blushed criollo, large red and yellow trinitario(LOTS of pulp), and many other types, not labelled so they are randomly sorted.

20+ plants available, $25 each. There is a rare round leaf cacao in the photo, I can sell that for $50, very hard to come by

I ordered several Belize Blackberry seeds from Trade Winds. I have germinated other Trade Winds seeds but had absolutely no success with Belize Blackberry. None.

How did you germinate your seeds and what was your germination rate, if you do not mind me asking?

it was a while ago so I'm not 100% sure on the details, but i just planted the seeds regularly, and I was using a bad soil mix at the time. I'm pretty sure they all grew successfully since I've had 10-15 plants of this before.

For anyone who was interested in the orange skin Kubal, I am not selling it at this time since my extra plants I had seemed to die. So I'll be keeping my last one. I'll be adding some more plants in a few days, a few will be sold later today and I'll update the listing.

I just plant them like any other seed and they've done fine, even the orange skin kubal I planted in bad soil a year ago and neglected it and it stayed alive. Most of the ones that have done good were already germinating when I got them.

3 cola lepidota plants added, probably will be selling 1 java pear, 1 mocambo, and 1 sundrop tomorrow. I have more mocambo and sundrop plants that are both larger and smaller, but not necessarily gonna sell them, so I'd buy the ones listed before they get sold.

I would be interested in a couple of those plants, depending on the price, but it is the wrong time of year to ship plants to my area. Hopefully, you will have another batch of rare plants for sale in the spring, when I do not have to worry about cold weather damaging plants during shipment.
