Selling Marula seeds
« on: January 29, 2020, 08:23:26 PM »
I have a bunch of Marula seeds that a friend brought back for me from their trips to Africa, probably at least 100 seeds.

$2 a seed, 10 seeds $15.

shipping will vary depending on your location and shipping speed.

Do you know where he got the seeds? I'm wondering if trees from a cooler area might have more cold tolerance. Thanks, D

the seeds from what I understand were collected from different areas he visited, so there is definitely gonna be some variation in the fruit quality and potentially hardiness. I read someone on here who lives in South Africa I think mentioned his marula plants were able to withstand 1 degrees celsius while still young, I would search marula on here to confirm though.

Iv had year old seedlings survive at least down to 0C (protected from frost though)
The most important thing is that the plants are in a dormant state when it's that cold imo. They are surprisingly hardy

I've never tried the fruit, but the white pulp is edible from what I understand
