How much does lilly pilly vary, and is strawberry lilly pilly special in that it has more of a strawberry taste than others?

Think the ones I'm growing are called "blue."

thanks!

i haven't tried either one, but they are different species. The straebery Lilly pilly fruits appear a decent amount larger than blue lily pily

Description from person i acquired seeds from:

Strawberry Lilly-pilly.
A tropical Lilly Pilly with huge leaves up to 40-50cm long (about 1.5 feet long), new leaves are pink changing gradually to green.  Large clusters of white flowers followed by red, crunchy edible fruit that taste subtly like strawberries though with little to no sweetness. Plant becomes a small evergreen tree, will easily live in a large tub.  Part sunlight will suit it well.  Very ornate -  colorful leaves, large leaves, beautiful flowers and stunning red fruit clusters.

Any information about the Talisia? What the fruit was like, or where it was obtained?

Lilly Pillies are just a group of related Syzigiums and in my area there are around 20 species. S.gonatanthum is a rare NG species that can grow big and nothing much is published on them. Many have a sour apple taste to the fruit but some are more bland. Talisia are like Meliccocus and rather like a longan with thin flesh and there are quite a few species. Would be great if people can report on flavour of some types.
