Indian mango variety viewer with pics

I stumbled across this page today. It's pretty interesting because it has pics with the names as well.

Thanks for posting. You might have noticed video link at the bottom? It has even more mango types, especially ones from Sri Lanka. Video took a while to load.
Funny that they list Tommy (Atkins) as from Brazil?

Very interesting information. One curious thing I noticed is they show separate "Neelam" and "Neelan" varieties. My "Neelam" tree's fruit look identical to the fruit shown as "Neelan."

The list is great! I was looking for it. Thank you very much :)
Our friends from India can give us more information about the "not famous cultivars" in the list.

I didn't notice the video link below. Thanks for pointing it out. I added them to the original post.

In the link they have a mango identified as "Pari". I've seen a lot of different spellings; Paheri, Pirie, Pari, Pairi, etc.

http://www.thrissurkerala.com/mango-varieties/slides/Pari.html

But that mango doesn't look like the Bombay grown in Florida and the west Indies.

Look at this image of the Bombay: http://trec.ifas.ufl.edu/tfphotos/Update07-01-04/Bombay-mango.jpg

Now compare it to this image of the Pairi by Wilson Popenoe: http://chestofbooks.com/gardening-horticulture/fruit/Tropical-And-Subtropical-Fruits/Mango-Alphonse-Group.html#.UtSzHJ5dV8E

They look pretty similar. I think the website with the Pari is a different mango.

I agree that the Indian Pari shown in the website is a little weird looking with the pointed end.
But the Pairi/Pari/Paheri should all be the same...according to literature that I have read.

I have been researching the origin of the Pirie mango for some time...since the Hawaiian Pirie (and White Pirie) are my favorite mangos.
The Hawaiian Pirie is a descendant of the Pairi/Paheri of India.
Likewise, the Bombay is also a seedling descendant of the Paheri from India.
So that's why I am so interested to see if MangoFang's Bombay is similar in taste to the Hawaiian Pirie.  To the best of my knowledge, nobody in SoCal other than MangoFang has a Bombay.
