Weird Winter - Weevils are still here
« on: January 27, 2014, 11:06:44 AM »
The weevils are eating my Lychee Tree with a vengance- In the past, the weevils were gone in the winter and my poor tree was given a break.

Anyone else having an issue?

The cold seems to have killed some of them off here. At least slowed them down a bit. I saw a couple dead on leaves on a few of the cold mornings. And others seemed to be revived by warming them. I put some in a jar and brought in the house and was able to see them reanimate when I thought they were dead.. So maybe they have become more cold tolerant than in times past.

I'm seeing them every day on my mango tree.  Not in great numbers, but a quick walk around and I'll always spot a few.  These buggers never seem to take a break.
