Zanthoxylum simulans is monoecious species. Previous I grow Z. piperitum and I have no fruit, only flowers occured and then nothing else. But Z. simulans fruit without problems.

how many do you suppose is an adequate number?  just curious.

Are you sure that it is Ilex paraguaiensis? I have this plant but it seems more like Caseenah (Ilex cassine)... It grows wild in Fl... ;)

If it is Zanthoxylum simulans, it is monoecious. Last year I have fruits on 2 years old plants. Similar species - Z. piperitum and some others are dioecious so you need both  sexes to get a fruits.

It seems that G. neuberthii grows very slow. Its not very frequent outside the area of natural distribution.

How old they are? G. neuberthii germinated nearly 1 year- first sending small root downward and after 5 months it started to form shoot.

I have few plants of camu camu which germinated in july. After 2 months they became chlorotic and lot of them die. Then I read here advice to spray them with chelated iron and they started turn green. Now I use ketapang water as a substitute for iron complex. Seems it can help to recover the plants.

I order 15 seeds last year from Germany. Now I have 3 plants about 15 cm tall. Will try to post some pictures soon. They germinated very very slowly and because here in EU is very short day in winter months I put them under artificial light.
