Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / looking for some seeds
« on: October 28, 2015, 07:01:32 AM »
Would love some kaffir lime and finger lime seeds/plants of good lineage. Tried messaging people whom have made offers to no avail. Maybe its because I'm new here??? However I've traded with several of you already and bought seeds from several of you.

Can someone I've exchanged with chime in here to show my legitimacy? Maybe that'll help??? Not sure how you build reputation here. I've got tons of rare plants to exchange people and am only looking to diversify my garden more!

Thanks! DG

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: GUARANA SEEDS
« on: October 03, 2015, 09:00:27 AM »
I have seed pods forming on one of my guarana vines right now. First time ever so I don't know if they'll mature correctly. If they do and I get a bunch I'll offer them up!

Hello! Sorry to be a butthole but I believe you have T. ulmifolia or false damiana. Still usable as a tea and whatever but does not contain the same chemical profile as T. diffusa or true damiana. True damiana has much skinnyer leaves as opposed to the broader leaves your plants have. Again sorry to be a butthole but I'm nearly 100% sure that isn't true damiana.

Let me check my neighbor's vine later today. Good fruit quality muscadine but unknown cultivar. Might be some still on the vine let you know.

Anything in particular you are looking to trade for? Otherwise what price are you asking?

Ya Walmart and home depot have citrus trees all the time. Not that it matters but I like to support real people doing things because they care. I might go a head and buy one of their trees though for convenience. However any exotic citrus not obtainable at the big box stores is way more exciting! Still down to trade for something outta the norm.

Open to any crazy weird stuff too as I like abnormal stuff.

Would love to get a cutting of your purple haze dragon fruit. Have wild FL maypop passiflora and also some fairly sizable cherimoya trees from seed of a good fruit. May cost a bit to ship the cherimoya as their in a good size pot and about or over a foot tall. Pm me if interested.

Do you know if these seeds are likely to produce decent fruits? I read that there are some decent eating cultivars but that many are not very good. However its still a good root stock plant either way!  :)

I would absolutely love some of these seeds if you still have them and want to trade or whatever! How long to fruit from seed for these guys?

Very interesting species! I'd assume the fruits are edible? Unfortunately my yard is very dry and it appears to like wet environments. Awesome plant!

Thanks y'all Checked out silver hills site. That is an immensely impressive seeds list! They didn't have the green monkey orange in the list but the black and spiny leafed varieties are there. The spiny says the fruit skin is woody which isn't a big deal but I'm gonna order the black. Thanks for the direction!

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Wanting rare fruits

Hello!

New member here but really excited to join a fruit growers forum. A small bit about me first and why I'm here. First I love me some fruits! Want to grow it all! I'm ambitious about growing tropical fruits, veggies, and herbs and I love to try new and exotic things that tingle the taste buds! Currently working on a food forest project in my yard that's just now getting growing good. I want to self sustain as much as possible and grow the majority of my own food in the future.

Anyways I'm joining here to contribute as much as possible and also obtain new gems for the project. I want the rarest of the rare fruits that can handle my zone 9-10 environment. So far by way of fruits and edibles in general I'm growing the following species: jabutchacaba(sp?), egg fruit, goji, golden berry, passion fruits, jujube, moringa, guava, black mulberry, russian olive, cassava, chaya, loquat, star fruit, pomelo, paw paw, persimmon, cherimoya, sour sop, cinnammon, ayahuma, albertia sessilis(sp?), blueberry, blackberry, suriname cherry, sugarcane, miracle fruit, brazilian cherry, nutmeg, black pepper, tree collards, and probably a ton of stuff I can't think of right now...banana too!

Here's what I want to find:
green monkey orange (Strychnos spinosa)
not edible but Sapindus saponaria or soapberry
raspberry, blackberry, brambles in general suitable to my area
blueberry for my area
strawberry
kumquat
other citrus especially container capable varieties
perennial veggies of any sort
rare cooking herbs
rare fruits suitable for my area...anything anything that's good and/or massively productive
even entheogens are welcome

Will trade or buy to seal any good deal!

Thanks D-Grower
