Avocado fruit sun burn
« on: July 21, 2022, 05:27:51 PM »
So I planted a Catalina avocado 3 years ago.  Last year had a few fruit that formed but I removed.  This year it produced about 40+ fruit which are quite large now (softball size)  The fruit are so heavy they pull the branches down, exposing fruit to sun.  This week, it started dropping fruit.  The ones that dropped all seemed to have some sun burn on their tops (yellow to black spots).  I painted the exposed branches but how do you protect the fruit from sun?   I’ve waited a long time and sure would like to save/protect as many as I can.    Thanks!
