all seeds will be send and warp with plastic and bubble warp with sphagnum moss inside to keep them alive., all cuttings and scions will be fresh cut , treatment with fungicide and warp in humid tissue paper .
and scions will be plant in floral foam with fungicide treatment and root hormone, also warp in plastic warp.

Yes i'm in Thailand and have been to Indonesia a few times. I have been all over Java and Bali. I have a Dutch passport so it's no problem to go.

Katuk is easy to grow , even if you just plant in in regular soil , just give it water twice everyday ...
i think its depend you taste , like i said before kueni is my most favorite of all mangifera ...aromatic fragans and sweet. but i wouldn't sell the bland taste / bad taste fruits , and i wouldn't described excessive for taste too. ;D
i have to tell you my friend, rare is not always tasty , i have about 15 fig varieties now and some of them had bland taste ( in my climate ) so i would say that better if you looking for tasty fruit rather than rare fruit.. just share didn't mean negatively at all ;)

I like to let my katuk just grow so tall it falls over. Then it sends up several main trunks from the one horizontal stem. You could probably plant it horizontally and get the same result (once your cuttings are established just to be safe)
My katuk (called Pak Wan here) was also falling over but i tied it to a bamboo stick. I prune it sometimes and then it became more bushy. It also sends up new stems now and has seeds. The leaves are a bit misformed though but i guess i gave it to much fertilizer, it only likes animal manure is what i read and a lot of water, no chemical fertilizer. It can grow fast.
Yes those roseapples (or waxapples) look great and big. I want to go to Borneo whenever i go back to Indonesia.
Afriadoni i think you can also grow achacha or jaboticaba, ross sapote, abiu, lychee amphlawan, and much more. If i have seeds i will let you know.

Jaboticaba and abiu could get easily here , but two other stuff would be interesting..

Are there also offseason mango's in Indonesia? Or red mango's? Or maybe somebody there has a good way to get offseason mango's? There must be som much info about how to grow tropical fruit in Indonesia, 250 million people live there and it is ultra tropical everywhere!
I bet this forum can learn a lot from the Indo's or Malaysians or Phillipino's.

there is red mango variety from kediri , east java , my friend said its tasty ..
most of our mango variety are green skinned , but i believe , like other most indonesian that the skin of the fruits are not describe the taste of them ... :)

Here they are green or yellow but that's why we want red and purple now, even if they taste worse ;D
But Osteen mango for example can be nice red/purple and also tastes great!

Funny how they make up new names all the time. Here they call them papaya Holland and they ask me all the time if we grow them in Holland ;D.
Well i made a new thread about it, i decided to send them for free to anybody who wants to try. If the Thai like them they must be good and now i also like papaya's but only this one. I guess they are developed in Holland but i don't even know that for sure.

The keledang (A.lanceifolius) I have been getting here look different to the pictured one being bigger with smoother skin like a chempadak.The one in the picture is here also and it gets called monkey jack (A.rigidus) and I know some people call lakoocha by the name monkey jack also.I think it was Oscar who cleared up the names before.

by the way , do you have a picture of your "KELEDANG" ? I never know if keledang from australia has bigger size and skin like cempedak

af look at the picture called keladang which has the a not e from February 19 2014 for a better idea.All the good species have been here for a long time and one farmer has 18 Artocarpus species that are good to eat.There are quite a few lakoocha,pedalai,Kwai muk and keledang varieties around as well as ones called entawak,monkey jack with rigidis,nitidis and a few others listed for sale at times.

keledang has round shape ( almost like a ball ) . i dont know if you australian called them keledang but here we from generation to generation called my stuff keledang ..
here in sumatra, only two kind of artocarpus has small ( man hand size ) , they was keledang and bintarung ..
surely the picture you shown is mentawak .
Keledang characteristic are ball round shape, sticky skin .. and the uncontested fact was the taste . Keledang has unique taste , like you eat Mangosteen and mango in your mouth at once .. and i like it .
i believe that australia have many varieties of artocarpus , but its not impossible that there are some name mistaken while this species brought from indonesia or other part of south east asia..

Your picture there looks like entawak A.anisopholis to me with the marang skin rather than chempadak skin.I think your first picture might be a smaller rough skin keledang and mine could be another variety of the same species.

I looked at the first picture and it has marang skin knows as well like your last picture and the rare fruit council here put out a guide to tell them apart with tree,leaf and fruit information as well and is in the library section on this site.That is the main one I use to identify the different Artocarpus.

and i don't mean blame or justify your fact or opinion but , this thing that we have and eat from hundred years ago was called keledang . and so my cousins in south borneo also call it keledang . i dont know wether its right or wrong .. may be us ( indonesian ) wrong to identify or wrong about name labeling at this stuff .. ;)

This new tablet is messing me around with its disfunctions.I think there is a whole lot of mixups with Artocarpus and common names are different in different places. A.rigidis, anisophila and lanceifolia seem to be variable and it can be hard to tell which one you have from the descriptions.They are all from the Indonesian region and the people there are likely to know most about them.
Whichever is in the first picture it will be a great eating fruit.My one in the picture was selected as the nicest to eat of several keledang varieties.
I might have wasted too much time on a side track when people should be looking at all the great fruiting species you have on offer.

Wow great looking D.oxylanus afriadoni. I have a seedling that is a couple of months old taken from a fruit in peninsula Malaysia around early October so the seasons must vary in a short distance.

by the way i have a tips for you which grow fruit tree from the seed .
when your tree reach 1-2 years old cut the end of tap root and the tops of tree . Cut all the leaves in the tree and you will get faster fruiting tree .

Hi erick they have 60 % sour and 40% sweet taste . I dont know about any variety of this species .. we only have this variety here .. :)

The origin of this species is indonesia and they were bred into varieties in Thailand a long time ago.Some varieties were selected in thailand for size, clean colour and sweetness.I would not be surprised if there was more genetic diversity in Indonesia and there are many ways of eating them because they are traditional there.

I have lived in Central and West Java and tasted many waxed jambos. I my experiences Madura jambos is the sweestest one. The fruit is white color and weight about 50 gram. Now, I lived in Bogor, West Java and have Madura jambo in my backyard. It is no fruit season of jambos tree.

I received several package from Afriadoni, highly recommended, the seeds arrived in good condition and some germinated , like the Durian seed in the picture below
In Brasil is very difficult and delayed to arrive seeds, the seeds from Borneo is very perishable, but the excellent packet made by Afriadoni make the seeds arrive very good same after 2 months in transit

Yes, he sent 6 packages with 2 seeds each end January, I received the 6 packages, only 4 seeds was rotten, 8 seeds are good and germinated

My Uvaria rufa seeds took about three months to germinate. I highly recommend afriadoni, his seeds and services are excellent.

Similiar to oxyleanus small seeds with thick flesh more creamy and sweet ..
manokwari taste similar to others zibenthius with complex flavor ,i think its zibenthius hybrib.. manokwari has thin fruit skin ..

Doni what is inside this hill? It it hollow inside or made of only durians? It looks great!

Doni, sorry to hear about the problems. Sending to Brazil is difficult, not just because of their customs, but also because their mail is extremely slow to deliver. Packages there take 1-3 months to pass customs and get delivered.

My returned parcels from brazil either get destroyed by Australian customs and they send me a letter or the parcels get all the way back to me.It is nice of the department of agriculture in brazil to pass on plenty of reading material just as you received doni.

I call them here and tell them they are a keystone cop outfit,bungling and need to wake up to themselves. They never call me only send letters talking about fines etc.I have had dozens of the letters from customs including 4 in the last 2 weeks.I guess dealing with the authorities is different in Indonesia.

The Australian letters and warnings from authorities are so plain but the Brazilian ones are glossy and green with extra information.No other country sends me these but my own and brazil.
