Sweetheart lychee grafted onto Emperor lychee. Amazing 1year of growth. Graft was done on 3/26/22
Hi there, what type of graft is it? I'm thinking it's a cleft graft as often used for mango, but not sure.
Yes,  cleft graft correct.

The tree skipped fruiting last year, so all the energy went into growth. Its loves the hot weather. This tree eats and drinks real good during the growing season. I pruned back the original tree to push the grafts to grow.

My oldest graft is almost 5 years old. Not sure how much longer it can last. You can see from the union that there's definitely incompatibility issues.

I have this same problem on one of my lychee grafted on lychees.

Hi Jason,
What's the hanging green lychee taste like?
Have you tried it?

12
Hi Bill
Can you send me WanXu contact info.  Or have contact me? His order is 89
I have his 2 trees. Thanks

13
Behl,
You have anything grafted onto it? If not, maybe try grafting a mature  NDM budwood onto the trunk, that might help trigger it into flowering mode. Ndm is always blooming year round over here.

Or try using  EB Stones 0 10 10 bloom boosters.

For the Biew Kiew tree, I used a biew kiew seedling and a Kohala seedling. The Kohala tree was a Kohala seedling.

Biew Kiew longan added 2 rootstocks definitely helped with fruit production.

Kohala airlayer longan was a weak tree until added 1 rootstock.

Mallika mango on turpentine rootstock added a Manila rootstock. Manila rootstock got as fat as original tree

Hi Tru,
What variety of lychee seeds did you planted?
I'm trying to speed up my lychee and Longan seedlings by grafting them to my mature  trees. I grafted a few Sakip and Chuleon longan seedlings and some of the grafts had a partial bloom on its 2nd year. Sadly, fruit didn't make. Hopefully next year it'll have fruits. This year, i grafted some Mauritius seedlings(might be cross pollinated with longan pollen). One of the grafts is growing very nicely.  Fingers  crossed   for blooms and fruit4me next year.
All the lychees and Longans seedlings grow super slow for me. It takes like 3 years for it to be Big enough to take scions to graft. So in total for the longan seedlings, about 5 to 6 years to flower.

I have a planted  Heung Lai lychee seed that i fruited from my longan tree back in 2017. It's  now only still aliittle over a foot tall. I plan  to graft that too, but it's still so skinny.
