Just realized I never replied here after I got our box! I liked the flavor a lot, but I was a little surprised that the seeds themselves were more like clusters of loosely packed embryos, and fell apart in my mouth if I tried to suck the flesh off. I was expecting solid "beans"!
In the end I mostly cut the flesh off with a sharp knife and made a pile of the outer fleshy parts to eat by the handful.
Very happy with the order, definitely recommend!
Interesting, the black portion of the seeds never fall apart unless you bite them. Was it only the green parts (I have no idea what the hell the green portions are or the function they play)? Glad you liked them!
There were pieces of small black too, and some white bits, but mostly it was green ones. I think they all looked like embryos, whether black, white, or green, just the black ones were more fully developed into "seeds" than the others. But I'm not a plant biologist! I've just seen similar range of embryos in other poly seeds like citrus and mango.

Package arrived and pods are in good condition! Thanks!
Does this look like the variety?Yeah, it looks just like that. The Carmine is a renowned variety throughout Southern China for its creamy flesh, pungent smell, and gorgeous red/yellow skin.
I've never heard of or seen any of the cultivars on this list. Has anyone seen any of these available , seed or scion , anywhere?
I think it would be easier to find fruiting Wani or russell's sweet scion.
Raul and Bob went to the Illama research stations in central america and got some cool stuff but I don't see where these could be available from. shoot for the moon though.
If the owner of the tree is Chinese, then it's likely the Guangdong (Southern China) Carmine "chicken shit" variety.

Cuttings received
Very fast and fresh
Thank you!
Can Illama be grafted onto sugar apple or cherimoya tree?
Here’s the same picture with the supposed fruit circled.
There are several of these on my tree so fingers crossed that these are fruit set and that they can make it to harvest.
My Dongkui, An Hai, White Honey and special variety from a friend are also blooming. Late Rice (Wandao) and Biqi are slightly behind.
Here’s my An Hai blooming like crazy.
