It is the most famous cultivar of Japanese Cherry.
‘Sato-Nishiki’ is a cultivar created by crossing ‘Governor Wood’  and ‘Royal Ann’.
The taste is very good. Many Japanese consider its cherries to be the best in Japan.

6.Sumomo 'Oishi-Wase'.
This big fruits cultivar is the most commonly grown plum in Japan. It was created in 1952 from a seedling of the plum 'Formosa'.

7.Sumomo ‘Santa-Rosa’
It was presented in 1960 from the home of the famous horticulturist Luther Burbank. The name comes from the fact that his home was located in Santa rosa, California.

8.Ume 'Nanko'.

characteristics:This variety was born in Wakayama Prefecture in the Taisho era (1912-1926). It is called "green diamond" because of its beautifully colored rind. (The fruit in the photo is unfortunately overripe fruit.)

characteristics:It was born in 1978 from the 'Royal Ann' variety of cherry. Very tasty fruit with a good balance of sweetness and acidity. The large, heart-shaped fruit is really cute! One tree can produce many fruits. (In other words, it produces a lot of fruits by self-pollination.)
It is harvested at my friend's house in Tokyo. It is harvestable at my friend's house in Tokyo, Japan.

Can anyone give me information about the 'Pedro' variety of lemons?

Kamado, Haruka is an interesting tip. Sounds really good what I have read about it. Do you know how hardy it is? I have read that it is mainly grown in Southern Japan.

My favorite is F. obovata (Changshou kumquat). Peel is sweet and pulp is sweet with a wonderful mandarine flavour.

why so many glaucas though?  does japan have any deserts?  i think that the main benefit of glauca would be to develop more drought tolerant varieties of citrus.  is there another benefit?

based on the few threads i've read here it seems like the priority is improving citrus cold tolerance.  i guess more people live in colder areas than drier areas?

I agree with what other members have mentioned.I think that Japanese appreciate Citrus glauca trees as beautiful.It is also popular among people who want to grow citrus trees in their gardens because it is resistant to disease.

The fruit evaluation data from NARO is kind of neat. Anyone know what "drip amount" in the evaluation data is? I can't seem to find any other sources using "drip amount" in citrus evaluation. Is that just the amount of leakage from the fruit, or something else?

I eat ‘Asumi’ in Japan.

It’s new citrus released inJapan in 2012.

THe Citrus is very sweet.
Most fruits have a sugar content of more than 15%!

‘Asumi’ was born by crossbreeding ‘Okitsu 46’ and ‘Harumi’.

‘Okitsu46’ is  descended from ‘Sweet Spring’(C.unshu x C.hassaku) and ‘Trovita Orange’(C.sinensis).
‘Harumi’ was born by crossbreeding ‘Kiyomi’(C.unshu x C.sinensis) and Ponkan(C.poonnensis).

So,’Asumi’ have 4 genes of Citrus.

I would say my Meiwa kumquat is the tastiest citrus.  Cant buy them anyway so I grow them.  My New Zealand lemonade comes in second.

I live in Japan and have eaten quite a few varieties of citrus.
Among them, my favorite is this 'HARUKA'.

This fruit is the child of Natsudaidai and higanatsu. This fruit is refreshing and sweet, and you can eat five or more a day without getting tired of it.

 Please let us know your favorite citrus fruits or the most delicious citrus fruits from your country.

The Citrus is rare Japanese fruits.The skin color like Yuzu.
