Going to FL…visit new people!
« on: July 11, 2022, 03:18:14 PM »
Hey all, looks like the annual FL
Trip is coming up for me…a little later than expected
But im going down for a few days
I know which nurseries I'm hitting, but if you got any others, let me know! What I'm looking for are people who can let me visit and get new trees and fruit….
I’ll be on the east coast
Hitting fruit and spice
Trees n more
Tropical acres farms
Excalibur?
Have any spare fruits or trees or just want to show me around? Send me a pm!
Of course, I have the right to accept or reject lol
Thanks!

Eat a perfectly ripe fruit punch mango for me. As you're eating it, let a couple drops from the juices drip to the ground for the homies that can't be there.

What circumstances would you reject someone’s invitation to their farm/home?
It’s always extremely nice to be invited into someone’s garden when they don’t know you or your intentions.

Yes just on the other hand I don’t know theirs?
I’d accept everyone’s
Just if some new member with not much background comes in and says visit my farm…if they acting strange, there is no way I’m going. Just trying to stay safe.
Of course, I know most people on here are good intentioned and I’ve interacted with a huge amount of people. So on that case, I would accept
I know it’s nice to let random people come lol
I had a blast last year meeting new people!

I got you!
Wasn't able to get fruit punch last time, but hopefully I will get to taste it this time!

I haven't met a bad or questionable person yet from the forum, and I've met a dozen or more in person and many more through messaging.

Oh well
At least I got the tree🥹
It’s getting late in the mango season…my family and I decided to say screw it especially after a box of mangoes was lost in the mail.
There’s always next year

That’s nice…
I’ve dealt with a few bad apples (or mangoes if you might say)
But only through shipping etc…I guess if someone is nice enough to have you over, it shows who they are
Especially when they are taking time out of their day!
I genuinely thank all of you who let me stop by last year!

I am heading to Tampa FL. tomorrow

Not sure what to expect either

I had a slow computer (dis abled speakers re start/re installed speaker fixed it)
so no idea what area's to see (my brother has a Friend though )
(slow computer also cost me more to book ticket
(so I plan to buy a extra PC in Chicago so I do not waste higher airline booking fee's )

Anyone know of a good area that is more local (I do not like touristy area's )
or plant places in Tampa (where does amtrak go as well.

For plants there is not much…Jenes Tropicals in Saint Pete has a good selection of fruit trees, but it is a longer drive and they are right near the tourist beach lol. Good nursery though I’ve went at least 5 times! Not a local, so I don’t really have much advice.

Ha ha Funny how google maps says it's about 50 minutes from the Amtrak station (st. pete)
via I-275 N
Heavy traffic, as usual

I think I will just wing this trip
(I may do a auction and try to cut my loses (high airline ticket ) maybe a pawn shop will have a guitar.

EDit Oh thanks for that
I may have to go by clear water anyways (if I remember correct )

So I may check that out (I guess I will check the department of natural resources (who knows maybe I will just go in the woods)
