Seedless Lychee

(1/2) > >>

bradflorida:
For what it's worth, I have been corresponding with Stephen Dong at Jason Nursery in Guangdong, China.  He has agreed to sell one individual seedless lychee tree and ship it to the U.S.

He said the tree would be 60-70 cm tall, .6-.8cm caliper, and approx 3 years old.  However, the costs are not cheap.  $150 for the tree, approx $300 air freight, and $150 for phytosanitary certificate (if required).

Mike T:
He is in contact with many people Brad and Jason Nursery can do a way better deal than that.I would ask Steven what the minimum tree number order and price is that he has offered other potential customers in the US and Australia. You probably had 2 reminder e-mails in the last few months checking if you were still interested.

BluePalm:
How is the taste?

Mike T:
I have not eaten them yet in a physical sense only vicariously through the medium of imagination combined with written descriptions and bosworths. They are supposed to be really good according to people I know who have eaten them.

The size description does not correspond with the claimed age. It's way too small to be 3 years old unless it was very neglected, and if so you shouldn't buy it.

If lychee is allowed into FL you will need to do a 2 year post entry quarantine. Have you gotten all of your permits? You wouldn't want to waste all of that money because you didn't follow the rules.
