Some Plandom Rants

FlyingFoxFruits:
So here they are, some randoms that showed up at my house this year.

I hope you enjoy the pics and the info!

Until next time.  :)

Rollinia sylvatica...I'm really eager to eat this fruit as well..even if it is small and seedy, at least I'll be one of few people in USA who gets to gnaw on the flesh of this annona.

Amazon tree grape (compliments of FLgreenmon seeds)...I only got two to come up, and this one barely held on...the problem was using tap water!! One of the seeds refused to lose! and here it is today, happy to be alive.  (and what is that random white furred beast lurking in the shadows? Mue Mue the  cat..in full effect)

Bactris setosa (can wait to taste a fruit, supposedly somewhat like jaboticaba, and high in calories and fat!)  This one looks like it could flower any month now.  The thorns on this plant are so horrendous and offensive that I know it's hiding a real treasure...there's no way this plant armed itself so fiercely for a worthless fruit!

annona coriacea seedling...I'm all hyper about keeping this one alive, and tasting it's fruits one day...I just love how this tree looks in pictures.

and this one is a rare and unnamed annona (can anyone help ID this one..from brazil, but maybe native to Africa?)

Great to hear that one of your Amazon tree grapes germinated. None of mine did!

Quite the eclectic collection, Adam.  Hmmmmm, you have that problem also, with these things just showing up at your home unexpectedly.  I thought I was the only one that happened to.  Anyway, thanks for posting.  It will be interesting to follow the progress of these guys. Please uodate us as conditions warrant.  Thanks in advance.

I'm getting the feeling you live on a 200 acre spread growing every edible fruit in the world.  You always have all kinds of obscure fruits I've never heard of before!
