Goldfinger is a good one. Taste is similar to Dwarf Brazilian but a little sweeter. And it doesn’t need propping.

I know they say these are from tissue culture but how do you really know?  He is an unknown vendor.  I suspect they are from seed.

My French Red is finally flowering!  I love this plant.  The Pseudostem is beautiful.  It is the only red banana that I have grown that flourishes here in my mild SoCal Coastal environment.  I just wish the fruit was red.

Pretty plant!  I’m surprised you could keep it alive for that long in a pot. You are definitely doing something right.

You are a lucky man!

That is normal for them in dryer environments.  If you raise the humidity around the plant it should burn less.  Try watering the plant from above and the area around it once or twice a day.  That should help.

My Painter Cherilata fell off the tree while I was at work.  I tried the fruit today.  I have to say I really liked it!  It has a very low seed count.  It has no grit.  And it has a very nice taste with out an off putting after taste that I sometimes get from Atemoyas and Cherimoyas.  The flesh is chewy and a very pretty red.  For a first fruit on a small potted tree I was very impressed.  I would recommend this to anyone interested in Annona's.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Yangmei (Morella/Myrica rubra) thread

Two of my three plants from the last group buy are still alive.  I still have them in quarantine because of the root know nematodes.  I'm hoping to get rid of those with continued treatment.  At this point I believe that seedlings are peoples best option for growing Yangmei.  They can be purchased mush cheaper than grafted trees.  You don't have to worry about root know nematodes.  And you could grow an excellent new variety of Yangmei.  At this point there just isn't enough information out there on what varieties are the best tasting or productive.  Simon is providing excellent information but that is a very small sample size.  Seedlings seem like a great option until more information on varieties is available.  And clean grafted trees can be purchased at reasonable prices.  Just my two cents.

Hi all, I have several species of Garcinia for sale.  I can ship these.

Garcinia sp. Pacuri is a fast growing and cold hardy Garcinia.  It is possibly a form of Brasiliensis.  The fruit tastes similar to Achachairu.  Because it grows fast and is cold hardy I believe it is an excellent variety to use as a rootstock for grafting.  I believe these are hermaphrodite.  Plants will have at least six leaves.  Quantity discounts!

One plant costs $30 plus shipping.
Two plants cost $55 plus shipping.
Four plants cost $100 plus shipping.
Eight plants cost $175 plus shipping.
Twelve plants cost $240 plus shipping.

Garcinia sp. Russell's Sweet.  These plants are very rare.  The fruit is very large and reported to taste excellent.  These are male and female so you will need multiple plants for cross germination.  These plants will have at least two leaves.

One plants costs $80 plus shipping.
Four plants cost $300 plus shipping.

Garcinia sp. Luc's.  This plant grows and excellent tasting, large fruit.  Plants can be male, female or hermaphrodite.  It is recommended to buy multiple plants for cross germination.  These plants will have at least eight leaves.  $35 each.

Thanks,
Bill

I know these aren't fruit plants but they are beautiful and useful.  These are also called Awapuhi plants. These are very tropical looking plants that produces large red flowers from the base. When the flowers turn red they can be squeezed to get natural shampoo from. You can collect shampoo from the flowers every 2-3 days. Here in Southern California these will die to the ground during winter. Then in the spring they will regrow and send up flowers in late summer into fall. These can be grown anywhere that doesn’t get frost. Check my other listings for other tropical fruit trees, plants and flowers.

Buy multiple and save
One plant $25
Two plants $40
Four plants $75

These are for local pickup from Long Beach CA or I can ship these.  Please PM me you full address for a shipping quote.  These will be shipped in the pot. Nothing will be trimmed removed. They will be shipped in the soil less media they are growing in.  You will receive plants similar in age and size to the pictured plants.  I have larger one gallon plants available for local pickup.
