I have some Variegated Dwarf Namwa (VDN) banana plants for sale.  VDN is a strange plant.  The variegation is very inconsistent.  It produces variegated and non variegated pups.  I would say about 25-50% of the pups are variegated.  The other pups aren't variegated but they can produce variegated pups.  The plants that are variegated can and will have changing intensity of the variegation.  Depending on the season the variegation can be very striking or very bland.  The variegation is not permanent.  I have had some plants start small with variegation and then lose the variegation when they get bigger.  So, these plants can and should produce variegated pups, but no guarantees.  Here are some pictures of how good these plants have the potential to look.

I have this three gallon VDN for sale. It is about three feet tall not including the pot. It currently is showing no variegation. $80 local pick up only.

Here are some pictures of the whole tree. It’s hard to get a good picture of it. And I also found a couple more flowers!  Hopefully we his tree is hermaphrodite.

It's been a while since I updated this post.  My tree is now about ten feet tall.  The trunk is about two inches thick.  And I finally have a flower!  The flower hasn't opened yet, so I don't know what sex it is.  I don't see any other flowers on it but maybe some more will show up this summer.

Hi all, I have some Luc's Garcinia plants for sale.  They cost $35 each.  They are about 10" tall.  They are growing in 14" deep tree pots to promote a deep tap root.  This will hopefully let them grow faster.  The plant you receive will have at least eight leaves.  Shipping is about $12 for the first plant to the west coast.  Each additional plant is about $4 more.  Buy four plants and get shipping for half price.  I ship on Mondays and Tuesdays.  If you want a shipping quote I will need your entire address.

I also have a couple of Garcinia sp. Pacuri.  This variety grows fast for a Garcinia and it is very cold hardy.  Small size costs $30, Medium size costs $40 and Large size costs $50.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Identification banana vs plantain

I would recommend California Gold. The plant stays short, doesn’t fall over and is very cold hardy. It is an excellent plantain or can be eaten fresh. I sell them but don’t have any available right now.

Thanks for the compliments. I have mine in my greenhouse. So the high heat and humidity with diffused light is just what they need. My main concern right now is the RKN. I’m going to treat them for the RKN several more times. Then hopefully when I up pot them the roots will be clean. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Better safe then sorry.  I didn't wash it off mine after the roots soaked.  Pot them into small pots and water the soil with the Nematode Control solution.  They put them into a plastic bucket or plastic bin or anything that will contain the run off from over watering.

I plan on using the Nematode Control every time I water the plants for the first several month.  I think the directions said to water them with the Nematode Control solution for 7-10 times.

That is exactly what I did.

I have them in my greenhouse. RH is usually 80-90%. How low of light?  They get diffused light in the greenhouse. I wish I had some rootstock.  If I have time I’ll try to find some this weekend.

Got my trees potted up. The Dongqui had almost no roots. I hope it makes it. The two white crystal had a lot more roots. They will stay in quarantine till I am convinced the RKN are gone.

I would recommend soaking the trees in a solution of water and Monterey Nematode Control.  Follow the directions on the bottle.  It looks like these trees once again have RKN.  You can get the Monterey Nematode Control at some Home Depot stores.  Some stores have it on clearance for half price.  Or if you are near Long Beach CA you can get a bottle from me for $30.

Good luck!

Hi guys, I plan on treating my Yangmei trees for RKN upon arrival, like Simon recommends.  I'm going to use the Monterey Nematode Control as recommended by Simon.  I went to my local Home Depot and it was on clearance!  I bought some extra bottles.  They are normally $47 each plus tax.  I'm selling these extra bottles for $30 each.  You can pickup in Long Beach or I can drop some extra bottles off when I pickup my trees from the Orange County location.  Or I could ship them for $8-10 each.  Send me a PM if interested.
